If Chubb or Burrow return and are 100% I see it being based on their success for the year if burrow and the bengals make it back to AFCCG or Super Bowl it will probably be burrow if not and Chubb has a amazing season regardless of playoffs or not I think it will be him. Chubb had probably the most brutal injury last season and to see him return to form after that would be incredible

@@dmw3086 if Kirk Cousins plays at the level he was playing at before his injury last year, he wins it easily. He was on a record pace and was the MVP frontrunner before his injury. He had nearly 3,000 yards 18 TDS and 5 ints in ,8 games and still had 9 games left. Since 2020 only two QBs have more tds then Kirk Cousins and those two are Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes and that's with Kirk missing, 9 games, he likely has the most if he didn't get hurt. We finally have someone to get the ball to our play makers like Drake London, Kyle Pitts, Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier. Our two QBs Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke had 17 passings TDs combined in 17 games, Kirk had more passing TDS with 18 in literally half the games and Drake London is averaging 70 catches for 900 yards and 3 TDs a year in his first two years and that's with awful play calling and QB play. And they signed Darnell Mooney, traded for Rondale Moore and signed Ray-Ray McCloud, making us have the second fastest wide receiver corps in the NFL behind the Chiefs according to PFF

I'm gonna be honest. Geno deserved the CPoY award and his accomplishment - reviving his career - is fully within the spirit of the award. I also think Flacco winning it last year was ok. I'm probably one of the few who thinks that while Hamlin's story is a nice one and definitely a "feel good" story, the CPoY is for what you accomplish on the field post what ever it was that got you on the list. Hamlin had, what, 17 defensive snaps all year (including playoffs), and not much more on the special teams side of things. That's just not enough for me to say he's made an NFL comeback - maybe if he'd played a full game from start to finish and not a snap here and snap there throughout the season. I'm not trying to make it a high bar but there needs to be some level of play beyond just "he played". I'll put Hamlin on this years list of possible CPoY winners but he'll need to produce on the field to win it. Beyond that was Flacco the best of the other candidates? I don't know, but him stepping in mid season and doing maintain the Browns position as the 5th seed after years of not playing at least deserves to at least be in the conversation.
