Funny, I loved the original color and was disappointed he was going to paint it. Then when he painted it I loved the light blue and the light colored top and was disappointed when he was going to stain it darker. Then he stains it darker and, you guessed it, I love it! Goes to show that I should withhold judgment until the entire process is complete. Awesome job.

I have the exact same 4 piece bedroom set that was my mothers. It's 56 years old. It been sitting in my cellar for quite some time now. The original color was an off white leaning more towards the white side with the gold trim. Over the years it did turn yellowish just like the one you just did. I keep it because it's a good piece of furniture and I don't have the heart to throw it away because it has no damage except for the paint. The one you painted came out beautiful! However, I prefer the original color. I wish I knew somebody like you who could restore it back to it's original beauty. Love your channel!

I have this complete set, from my childhood. Don't you dare try to calculate my age. I'm older than that. ;P This small dresser, a tall dresser-on-dresser, two nightstands, Queen headboard, and two different jewel cases. I purchased a couple of the pieces as an adult when I saw they matched this set. I love how well made it is. Solid wood and lovely lines. I stripped it to bare wood, conditioned the wood, and went to town with a true flamingo pink. Kind of a brilliant saturated coral. Warm "gunstock" wood stain as an antiquing glaze. Copper wax to the edges. Fresh copper hardware I made to resemble botanical elements, sealed to keep it bright and avoid tarnish. It's a very different look than what you have done. Just goes to show how much the finish can impact the vibe. I guess my point is this: Do something that speaks to you and it'll be fine! No wrong answers. I do enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Hey Shaddy Guy was there a reason you painted the symbol the 'Sun Cross' when you where painted on the wood stain on the side of the dresser?
@ThatShabbyGuy4 жыл бұрын
I was wondering when someone was going to ask this question. 😃 I sometimes do some sort of cross or X to spread the stain around before doing the full brush strokes. I have no idea why I did it that way this time, nor have I ever knew the many different meanings of the symbol. I thought it was interesting for the video and wondered if anyone would say anything.
