soviet style is a direct counter to the mexican style this was an insane matchup for canelo

It is a counter to back foot styles typically the cuban style. That style perishes under pressure styles because of the high punch output. Canelo isn't necessarily a great pressure fighter, his cutting off the ring is horrible, inside fighting is nonexistent. Ggg has the exact same style although his is a pressure variant because he idolized JCC, Ggg lost the rematch because he didn't perform well under the back foot. Bivol is more of a mixture of Filipin/pac style.@@brendonjohnson1031

@@natedowns5 The clearest to me was round 9. Canelo backed up Bivol the majority without taking much back. There was a point in that round where Bivol threw 20 punches straight and Canelo dodged everything except the single gut punch in the end. Another round I gave him was round 2. It was a round that could swing either way, but Canelo's ring generalship is what allows him to edge many close rounds. Im surprised many more people don't mention this. It's probably the single greatest reason he beat GGG in their second fight imo. The fighter that dictates the pace and presses forward will nearly always win close rounds.

Не разбираешься так не пиши ничего, олух! 😅 Грязь это удары в затылок, удары в пах, удары после гонга, намеренные столкновения головами и тд. Canelo was carrying extra weight on his frame and was unable to train properly due to a hand injury. No shame in Canelo being 1-1 vs light heavyweight champs when the only other ex welterweight to be champ at 175 was 6'1 Thomas Hearns. Meanwhile Bivol hasn't even tried unifying his 1 division much less risked moving up like Canelo.

Canelo used his whole bodyweight in nearly every punch and for Bivol it was just the power he feels in every fight in that class.

Bivol nunca había tenido un rival tan difícil y apenas pudo ganarle por decisión cerrada... Canelo para esta pelea subió 7 libras, es decir, más de 3 kilos y le dio una gran batalla a este tipo que lo supera en estatura con más de diez centímetros y en alcance con casi quince. Así que deberías guardar tu comentario estúpido para otra ocasión...

Estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo una farsa Canelo, Bivol le gano fácil lejos en vergüenza lo dejo, todavía le comenta bajo a las 168 por todos tus cinturones y se le arrugo el tomate a la mentira mas grande mexico, y si si es el mejor en las 168 pero no ha pelado con los mejores de las 168 y el mandatorio y buen rival para la canela es Benavides y que pasa?? lo mismo le saca al bulto porque anda viendo a quien escoger que no le pegue, nomas le falta pelear con don Ramon y con cantinflas al cirquero ese

Bivol won every round no doubt! Stronger, better technique, better defense and stronger! Canelo was outboxed by a much smarter and better boxer! I would recommend to canelo to not rematch will just ruin his career! The counter punching was so good every punch landed!

@@walden6272I see your point, but the reason weight classes are so important in smaller divisions is because heavyweights tend to sacrifice stamina for mass and power, which is why you see smaller heavyweights like Tyson and Frazier beat up bigger fighters like Buster Mathis or Donavan Ruddock.

@@walden6272 that’s because in smaller weight classes a fighter can move up a few divisions while increasing their power and maintaining their stamina, but in canelos case he moved wayyy too far up and like I said before, sacrificed his stamina for power.
