Even if it was an exact replica of the Octopussy screen prop it would be an outrageous amount. Clearly the 007 Store is not for pensioners like me… Really what fan would want this hideous egg even if they had more money than sense?

I saw the new Taschen Dr No book at a bookshop near me the other day. I had a good flick through. It's beautiful. Only about 1200 worldwide so it will likely go up in value quite quickly. I obviously can't afford it at £750 but it's much better than that ridiculous egg.

Obviously a much better product but even the price tag for the book is obscene! It limits who has access to this crucial moment in Bond history - only the elite will be able to comfortably afford it.

I don’t know why it’s so hard to understand. Some companies produce items primarily for Bond fans. Other companies produces things like teddy bears or high end jewelry primarily aimed at collectors of that type of thing. Sometimes they make a Bond flavored variation of these products which, again, is not primarily for Bond fans. They are officially licensed so why should they not be for sale in the official Bond store?

Put it this way: Eon doesn't really care about regular fans. Should fans care that much about Eon? Recall, we've had $700,007 Aston Martins through the 007 Store. Also, even more expensive Aston Martin DB5 replicas with supposed gadgets. At this point, it is what it is. Those $6,000 backgammon sets from a few years ago look like a bargain by comparison. 😀

What an Eggcellent funny, little rant. 007 store items are obsurd in recent years and its spoilt what made been a bond fan fun for collectors. I dont even bother with the store anymore, well, not only because i cannot afford half of the stuff, but because it puts me off that they expect all bond fans in the world to have this kind of cash at hand. I mean, its obsurd. From the expensive 007 store items to No time to die terrible film, my enthusiasm as a bond fan is declining i have to say.
