Isla Mujeres is a lovely island off the coast of Cancun in Mexico, and here you can visit the beach voted the best in Mexico by Trip Advisor's readers. It's called Playa Norte, and although we haven't been to all beaches in Mexico, we fully agree. This is also our favorite now. 😍
In this travel vlog, we go for a tour around the island in a golf cart. You also see Punta Sur, Playa Centro, downtown, and the boat trip between Cancun and Isla Mujeres.

My wife and I went there in 1988 before the hurricane. Nice to see it's come back . We ventured there because we didn't like the vibe in cancun, took a taxi to Punta Sam and paid 50cents for a boat ride to Isla Mujeres. Spent our time at Playa Norte, found a little establishment named 'Bujos on the beach' that served us drinks and Shrimp Cocktails as we sunbathed. Actually found a room there for 20 bucks a night and stayed there. It was a wonderful place then and just what we needed at the time. Thanks for the nice tour of modern Isla Mujeres.

We have just returned...it is everything you said it is and much much more...we are in our mid 60s but still only 20 in our heads so jumping off of the high rock at Cenote Azul was a breeze..too much tequila on 5th avenue.. snorkeling on the islands,beach days..the friendly local people all made it on of the best holidays we have ever had..thanks again for the inspiration it was truly brilliant

I just discovered your channel when KZbin suggested this video, due to me doing some research on the island in past weeks. I think you've given one of the best views of the island that I've seen. I've been visiting the area since Playa was a small fishing village with just 2 phone lines and all the businesses shut down for afternoon siesta. I haven't yet, though, visited Isla Mujeres, but we have a room booked in Tres Mentiras for December. Hi, Renata, This is Hisashi from Rosarito. To be honest, I have been waiting for this report because I visited Isla Mujeres about 1 and half year ago and I knew it that it was a wonderful place. I was impressed by the beautiful beaches and I enjoyed marine activities such as snorkeling and kyach, etc. Personally, I loved it more than Cancun because it is much quieter, so it is good for people who loves nature. I visited Isla Mujeres in 1963 when it had few tourists. The police had the only radio for communcation and I stayed in the first motel that was under construction. I do not recall its name, but I do recall the group of French speaking tourists, all men, that were the only other guests. We were 4 college girls, students at the UNAM in Mexico City. One of us spoke French. It came in handy to learn the guy's plans when they tried to break down our door. We had pushed all the furniture in the room in front of the door and waited in the dark the whole night with broken bottles in our hands in order to defend us. No phones. We were lucky and by morning the guys had left. I am sure that things are different now

I wish I would’ve seen your video before I was there. I went there end of August…. Beach is phenomenal! But traveling with 3 kids made it a little bit hard to just walk around.

There are several beaches that one could enjoy so yes 2 days would be good. BUT, it would make sense to hotel on the island and if you do that then you might as well spend 3 or 4 days. I do not know what the hotels are like so you have given me an idea to go back and spend a week there to cover better for non-day trip visits. Having said that I think I would prefer to see more of the main land. Playa and Cozumel are so close and then there is everything in between. I like Playa Gordon likes Cozumel.

Hello, Thank you dor sharing your experience! I am going to Cancun this Dec. Wondering how the weather is like and how safe it is to travel from Cancun to Playa del Carmen.

Same questions we had. Did you see our video about taking the bus to Playa from Cancun airport? December is peak season so lots of people will be traveling there. Weather is perfect. Cancun to Playa you should be totally fine...lots of traffic and the buses are perfect to get around and cheap. Regards safety, please search Google news for the latest. We had planned Tulum but read that there were problems earlier this year so we avoided. We always felt safe and saw nothing that would deter us from returning....except maybe the prices. I hope that helps.
