Oversimplification: Suggests that overcoming deep-rooted social anxieties and achieving confidence is as simple as a "hack." Ignores the complexity of social confidence, which can be tied to past experiences, personality traits, and mental health. Hyperbolic Language: The term "Socially Invincible" is unrealistic. Confidence doesn't make someone immune to negative social experiences or judgment. This sets a false expectation, potentially leading to feelings of discouragement. Focus on Detachment: While reducing your need for external validation is important, complete detachment is neither realistic nor healthy. Humans are social creatures and some degree of connection is necessary. Lack of Nuance: Fails to acknowledge that legitimate social skills are also a part of successful interactions. Doesn't address the real challenges of being authentic and vulnerable in social situations, even with a confident mindset. Potential Harm: Could downplay the need for professional mental health support when dealing with severe social anxiety.

I really like the analogy of being both the player and the character. Personally The difficulty seems to be in motivation to do anything because once you actually imagine the moment to moment gameplay of someone else's it generally isn't an improvement. Like you said your gameplay is sitting on an aeroplane uncomfortably typing on a laptop, and that sounds like a huge downgrade to my current life.

I used to get so frustrated with this guy because he talks about how “letting go” is the solution to the reason you are seeking help, but then never explains how to let go. It took me years to figure it out, but it’s actually very simple. Whenever you feel uncomfortable, just relax into that discomfort in the same exact way you relax into an intense stretch or deep massage on a congested muscle. Just feel the emotion, but don’t resist the emotion. Allow it and relax. That’s what letting go is. Start small, with little annoyances. Just like with anything, you get better with practice. Over time you will be able to relax into bigger and bigger deals. There’s your answer.

When I quit weed, I felt a lot of loneliness. I tried grasping at all sorts of things: Reddit, calling others, reading about loneliness etc. Distraction worked for a time, but loneliness always came back. I eventually sat with my loneliness. Just felt it. It really works. Emotions are temporary states.

@Enrikoh

Actually if they have a bigger crowd they are probably the most authentic there. You can't get a big crowd and maintain it if you're fake because you'll eventually get overwhelmed and stressed that they're gonna see through the front
@Tim666-o5n
@Tim666-o5n 4 ай бұрын
There is this saying "fake it until you make it". If you keep telling yourself a lie and really believe in it, eventually you become the lie and can present it authentically. The brain can't differentiate between fact and fiction. As long as you think and believe it, it might as well be the reality.

@justaguyherefortunes1661
@justaguyherefortunes1661 11 ай бұрын
Most if not everyone fits these descriptions to some degree at some time. It's not you, it is your reticular activating system. It betrays your self image. You gotta get your self image swole. But you wanna train Natty. Compassion, critical thinking, perspective. Roids would be negative coping mechanisms and masking. You're in the gym when you are relating to yourself of others. So all the time. The weights are your positive thoughts about yourself. You want to start off light or there will be too much resistance and you wont be able to clear the weight. You can’t go from "I suck at social interaction" to "It's alright if I stumbled over my sentence talking to that girl. She's definitely done the same and maybe she recognized that fact. Maybe not. Oh well." Thats like trying to start benching at 350.

In some video games, when I lost all hope of passing the level, after successive failed attempts, I played dispassionately, accepting that I was going to lose again, and suddenly, I won... The funny thing is that on some occasions, the same thing happened in real life. I am increasingly convinced that becoming obsessed with winning is not the same as winning, but rather not knowing how to accept the fall, which is why it is much more difficult to get back up. Accepting defeat, naturally, is the game of life, try again.

I am an introvert and a shy person because when I was 10 I transferred to a new school but I felt there that I was Outcast , i was lonely too , and my brother was in this school too but he was a smarter student than me , so teachers was comparing me with him , and even one teacher said that I forget what learn not my brother, they expect me to be like him , but I was different, , and there I hated that people in that school focus on me or expect to me , I am a sensitive person too , and because of me use a pen to write in a different way not like others too , make people in that school surprised at me , and in that school I became more and more lonely , sad , shy , introvert , and my hands started to sweat alot from the time I begin being in that school and until now , My anxiety increased and I developed an obsessive-compulsive disorder I think because being alone for a long time ( 9 years ) , I started care alot how people think about me , I couldn't trust myself, I was so harsh when speaking to myself, I thought then I am not a beautiful, I didn't smile there too because I thought my tooth is not beautiful, Plus my father is so harsh when talking to me , and He criticizes me and makes fun of me and he is a kind of like Perfectionism . So my personality was really destroyed. Now I am 25 , of course things became better, but still I care bout other people thinking of me , and I am comparing myself a lot with other people , still shy and so good at make conversation. I am still until now to heal myself but really it is so hard , and I think It really will take a long time to free myself. But now even my mother and father want me to marry even if I don't now , they don't listen to my opinion no matter what I say , and I feel guilty for them , so I think I just need to do as they want . I just wanted to be happy , I just want the life I want . Thanks to anyone who read this .

Dont listen to your parents. Get a job wich is not draining you and maybe even one where you have time do let go in work time. Learn how to let go and you will turn around your life in 1-2 years. Recommend book letting go of david hwkins and sedona method free youtube course 1991. it will be very hard but if you see the value in letting go it will feel manageable. For me it feels i opened a void of all the suppressed feelings a year and a half ago and from then i was letting go several hours a day. It was a crazy heavy time but it baid off even if im still letting go of stuff every day. Highly recommend

Some people just need to realize that they've been chasing others but never truly themselves, when all they truly needed to find true happiness was to chase themselves for themselves and not others, for if one is good, good comes. If one is bad, bad comes. It is just the same for whether one's self is good or bad.
@talkingmefantasy
@talkingmefantasy 10 ай бұрын
"But what if I don't have anything good about me?" My response to that is how do you even know that when you haven't even chased yourself? When you chase something you naturally focus on it and when you didn't truly chase yourself, you didn't truly focus on yourself. And we all know how the lack of focus affects things, and for those who don't, well, your progress slows down. Your distractors wins. And when you apply this knowledge to not focusing oneself. You lose. Your distractors win. Your progress slows down. And even if you truly didn't have anything good, why not make good? If you don't have it, go get it. If you're hungry, go get food. "But what if I really can't?" Here's where the phrase if you can't love yourself, you can't love others, come in. Because if you truly loved yourself, you'd truly know yourself and you'd do anything to get what yourself best needs. See the words "you'd truly know yourself?" To truly know one's self, one must first chase oneself. One must truly focus on himself. And now if you truly loved yourself you'd definitely understand what others truly need best and if you didn't. You wouldn't be able to understand others which would lead to being not "good" enough. So I tell you all. Love yourselves and love others. Truly chase yourselves for if together we chase ourselves. Together we can find and increase the capability to love one another in a world where we'd maybe used to think that we weren't good enough. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” - The Bible.

I’m stuck in a cycle of self sabotage. I keep telling myself I need to get better. Right when I have my dream right in front of me I make sure I self sabotage to make sure I remain in the “I need to get better cycle.” For example I am a trader and I was going to receive a large sum of money. I could have stopped trading and received a large payment but I made sure I lost all the money. I don’t know why I do these things. I am addicted to chaos. It’s like I won’t let myself be great. Even tho I have the skill set to hit the next level.

because you act as if that money is for your flesh to give away, yet it's only your will's to give away. you let emotions do what they want, but they do not own you, you own you with your will. therefore, you may conclude that you are acting on behalf of your emotions and not your will. not that knowing this will somehow solve your issue, but hope it gives you a lead

Question : If I do a draw, or change my washing machine, ok, it's only my stuff. But I don't leave alone in a secret forest, so I use money. And people who pays me.... I can't no care about what they think about my job. I mean, they need a result. Maybe not all of them. But at least, some of them, otherwise, I don't have money to warm my house winter time. So, ok, what they think would not change how I value myself, but, if nobody likes what I do... there is a problem anyway. I can still think that I am good enough, but, clearly my work would not be good enough if clients are not happy. I can't lie to me and think "oh, I do a good job, a good draw, the clients are just not smart/sensitive enough to enjoy it". I can't see things like that. I can't "no care" about my clients think about what they've paid. I need their validation to know if I continue or not.

regarding "running out of things to say". When that happens to me it's because I got stuck in an internal negative dialogue. Usually thinking / monitoring what others think about me. "The solution" to that is to chip away at that conditioning that gets me in that internal dialogue in the first place.

About the relationship with the present and the videogame analogy, Mary Poppins said it already: “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You fin the fun, and snap… the job’s a game!” A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down.

I find it really hard when people jsut seem to dislike me or hate me before theyve even met me. Happened in my first ever job some woman just hating on me, Id never spoke to her and she made it clear she didnt want to speak to me. And that really affected me as I couldnt understand why.. I still don't know why to this day
