yea going for 3 over X was weard, plus i diddnt think the oroboros forms were mechs i thought they were still orgnaic. plus the skells were customiseable on their gear and just fun to go driving or skydiveing around it

Mech Assault is outshone by its sister games. Mechwarrior is essential (maybe Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries best represents), Mechcommander Gold is an incredible take on the property and Battletech is amazing. Weird list without recognising these giants of walking metal…

Titanfall 2 is a amazing with great solo story campaign and I like a 3rd but I guess we have to wait and see. Zone of the Enders 2 knocked me away back in the day with its graphics and so many enemies on screen with out slowdown at all. Honourable mentions Virtual On Cyberbots Armoured Warrior's (Powered Gearr)

I would put the Harebrained studios Battletech game, either Mechcommander game, any of the Mechwarrior games, and at least the first Battletech: Crescent Hawk game over the Mechassault games My other favorites include the first two Heavy gear games, and the Metaltech franchise

It saddens me that with the technology that we have right now, we’re not taken advantage of this genre. Just imagine back then they did so much with so little! If you were to add the graphics, physics, and network connectivity that we have today and somehow cultivate what they were trying to make back then, and do today, needless to say how successful that would be. To this day I still recommend Zone of the Enders 2 and Titanfall 2 to anyone curious about mech games to play. Between things like those and Brigador it almost always sparks a love of mech titles. I just wish there were more of them. Also, for anyone curious, try out Daemon x Machina. The story is complete ass, but the gameplay is Armored Core meets anime, complete with Itano Circus missile storms coming at you. The mechs you can make are sick as well, and there's even online co-op stuff ala Monster Hunter.

Never going to forget Titan Fall 2016 one of my most memorable game ever and today titan fall is the biggest reason why I am still playing Apex Legends and Thier background story was really satisfying and I have been playing Apex legends for 5 years since season 3 release

I have an opinion about mech games.. One thing I like about Titanfall Mech battle is that your Robot actually feels BIG. You are as big the the building and you see pilots are actually small. The only thing I don't like is that the Robots are a bit slow compared to other Mech battle game out there like Armored Core or Mecha Break, which in my opinion is a bit realistic in a way because big chunks of metal that big are not even suppose to move that fast Now I tried Armored Core, and man I loved it. Reminds me of the old Gundam games I played back in PS2 when I was a kid. But my critic about it is opposite to Titanfall. Your Mech does not feel like you are a big robot, and same goes to Mecha Break. I believe it has something to do with the environment, If your Robot is as big as buildings it will feel like you are big. but if you're a big robot in an open space, you feel like you are not big at all. Reminds me of the failure Skull Island Rise of Kong game, there are a lot of problem with that game but playing as Kong, you don't feel like a huge gorilla. He seems like a normal Gorilla in a jungle fighting other monsters. Trees are bigger than him, there's a vast area, you don't get the feeling that you are playing as a titan or a big creature/mech

No MechWarrior games? You've got to be shltting me. Somehow I expected it though, the predicable omission of which was the only reason I watched this thing. Yeah, because obviously a platformer where the player's sprite could literally be anything is far more satisfying a mech experience than MechWarrior 3 or 5.

I would have gone with Xenoblade X as the mechanic in thier are way more customizable and are true mechs as the Ouroboros forms are more ethereal. Also xenosaga has mechs in it that you get to use. There's also Damascus gear, another indie mech game. And trails of cold steel has mech combat. Yall complete forgot about Daemon x Machina

Mech arena could have been a honorable mention, a red vs blue game with several mechs with unique ability’s and different stats. And the weapons you can upgrade to make 5em more powerful with different mechs having certain energy capacity that grows the higher rank it has which allows stronger weapons to be used. with pilots and implants to help boost your mech with some being amazing when paired with a mech and their damage specialty with the weapons in your mech. So yeah.

The last Front Mission game came out in 2019 and it bombed hard: Left Alive. They turned it into a 3PS stealth game in which you never pilot a mech. Ugh.

Zone of Enders 2 was not directed by Hideo Kojima, you should correct it on the video. I think Omega Boost (1998) from the devs of Gran Turismo should have been included as it is a well made and quite unique for its time. Also I would have picked some other Armored Core than 2, maybe go with Last Raven or the new Fires of Rubicon.

Nice. After I played Xenogears I wanted to know more RPG mech games. I played Front mission 1 a long time ago and that was also great. I have tried Super Robot Taisen on the gb which was good. So that is another series to look into.
