@@123OGNIAN I just listed my three most replayed fps games and totally forgot to mention the one I played the most; Cold Winter. Weird how I'd forget that. That was an excellent game with some of the best voice acting. It was also extremely brutal regarding the fates of two of the main characters.

The problem I had with Black, is that I could not finish the last level whatsoever. I tried literally dozens of times but I just kept dying. even to this day, I still can't finish that last level. and to think, first person shooters are my favourite type of games on any platform. If anyone has any tips on how to complete the final level, then please let me know. Thanks.

Great list! My most favourite PS2 First Person Shooter was, is and would always be 'Black'. Despite being a PS2 game, it showcased graphics equivalent to the PS3 beta display era. Perhaps, the only First Person Shooter that gave people the opportunity to enjoy the game with infinite ammo. I wish EA and Criterion release a Remastered version of it for PS4/PS5.😇

@@darklord9581 You're absolutely right, mate. My comment is based on the PS perspective. I have been a PS Loyal since 1994. Nothing against X-Box. I just like Play Station more than X-Box. It's good that X-Box owners have the backwards compatibility option. PlayStation gave backwards compatibility after a long time. PS4 games can be played on PS5 whereas on XBOX, one may enjoy lots of classic games.😇 Hope the PS 'R&D' team takes this fact into consideration moving forward. Happy Gaming!🤝😇

The timesplitters series, Red Faction 1, XIII , Half-Life all have a special place in my younger gaming life with the addition of Return to Castle Wolfenstein being a top tier FPS for me too.

Red faction 1 had jaw dropping destructible environments for that era. I remember playing it and feeling like I was playing Arnie in total recall. Good times

The only FPS I ever played on this list was Area 51, it was a very good shooter on the PS2 and got me into aliens and space freaks, I'm glad I did play it back in highschool and i don't regret it at all, it's cool that Area 51 made your list of great PS2 shooter's well done Mojo Plays ✌️

Every time I watch one of these 'best of PS2' videos, I regret the day I had to sell mine before moving. I loved these FPS games and, I believe, had every one of them for the system. I often found myself coming back to the Timesplitters games, Black, and Killzone whenever I had some time to kill. There were also the third person shooters that became first person at the push of a button that I replayed often. Thank you for making this video and bringing back some nice memories.

I saw the last 10 seconds of a commercial for MoH: Frontline and it inspired me to finally get a PS2. I loved the game, even though there was a level in a bombed out city that took me what felt like FOREVER to beat. Wound up having to save my game after every few steps. When I finally beat the level, I got a gold medal rating because I was playing so cautiously. MoH: Rising Sun was pretty good, too. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was also a fun game. I actually thought that game would make this list, too.

"Quake III revolution" is underrated IMO. It may not be on the same level as on the Dreamcast, but I still play it from time to time and thought it was an overall good port of the game (if you're willing to look past the load times in between matches at least).

And Cortez was an excellent character. His need to use his catch phrase and the reception it received was one of the reasons. I also loved the robot in the underwater city segment busting a move and falling down a pipe. Also had some of the sexiest character models, too.

I had so much fun with Black and Frotnline’s been my favourite MoH game for more than 20 years. The Brothers in Arms series deserves some love though. It took FPS and added in cool elements like suppressing and flanking by commanding squads. Great games.

I've probably had over 300 hours of Killzone's Split Screen Multiplayer. My friends and I got together at my house and it was the best Split Screen Multiplayer fun we had since 007 GoldenEye of Nintendo 64. I also remember playing a lot of Singleplayer against Bots in a time when internet here in Brazil was a thing just for rich kids.

My faves that NEED and deserve a remaster were The Suffering, Area-51, urban chaos riot response, Medal of honor: frontline's, killzone, and not exactly 1st person and only a shooter in the last half of the game but manhunt was excellent. Also a couple underrated 3rd person shooters, Metal arms: glitch in the system and ghost hunter, nobody I know has played these but they really are excellent

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat was absolutely brilliant. You switched soldiers with the press of the square button just by looking at them. You played both sides and the cut scenes showed propaganda from both sides too.

one thing i noticed about area-51 that i haven't seen in other games is the scope on the rifle, even when not zoomed you can still see through it which is something even modern first person shooters don't do

The best first person shooter on the PS2 is TimeSplitters Future Perfect. Limitations were not the reason for how Killzone turned out on the PS2. It was rushed.

I love FPS games on any system. But one consistent problem I found on PS2 shooters was that I could almost NEVER get the aim sensitivity just right and that was a big annoyance for me! But if I had to choose a favorite on PS2 it would either have to be...Medal of Honor Frontlines or Black. Killzone would have been number one but I literally NEVER got the sensitivity just right for me. Not even KZ2 on PS3! Only in Killzone 3 did they manage to make the aim sensitivity just right, my favorite in the series.

Black is an absolutely awesome game, and I sometimes even play it today…it was a shame it didn’t quite get the attention it deserved when it was released, as I think it came out on PS2 just as the PS3 was being launched, and got a bit overlooked due to COD MW… Half Life and Timesplitters 2 are also still absolute gems to still play, though I think personally RF hasn’t aged quite as well…

I've never owned a Playstation 2 myself. I went from the Playstation 1 to the Playstation 3 super slim. And so I regularly went to an acquaintance of mine to play games on the Playstation 2. Of all the shooters mentioned above, I've honestly only played killzone. Later I bought the killzone trilogy for the Playstation 3 myself.

At the time of this comment,I just started the video Hope to see BLACK on this list *edit: Ooohhhhh that's right BLACK is still a gem (the story is simple) but damn the gameplay was fun and the soundtrack was amazing) It also earned the Greatest Hits and Platinum status for PS2/XBOX. Delta Force: Black Hawk Down was a sick game that released for PS2

Granted David Duchovny's voice acting wasn't on par with most of the VAs but he could have improved with other games and what not. Yes David Duchovny aka Fox Mulder voices the main character in Area 51

MOH FRONTLINE. I was 12 years old and played the demo of mission 2, which came with the official playstation magazine 06/2002. I was sulking for months because my parents wouldn’t buy it for me, since it was an 18+ game in Germany (although still censored, swastikas weren’t allowed in games here until a few years ago because of well, German history). when they FINALLY bought it for me, I was the HAPPIEST teen in the world. I would no scope enemies with the springfield or gewehr 43 over huge distances, know every single enemy spot and so on. it paved the way for my love of action games, and I have even platinumed the game on PS3.

My favourite FPS are the two 007 games Nightfire and Agent Under Fire they are so underrated 😢

Killzone is a very underrated fps series, people should try those out they really kick ass.

how tf is it underrated? it's widely agreed to be one of the best FPS series on the PS3 and the second game was universally acclaimed.

TimeSplitters was fantastic and i loved #3 as well. The tone, the story, the gameplay, the weapons, the humor, the monkeys.

Sad to see so little comments about BLACK i feel that game didn't get the recognition it deserved such a gem of a game
