You should reach out to the Emerald City Supporters and the Timbers Army about the Cascadia Cup. Its not just a derby, its an actual trophy paid for and owned by the fans. MLS tried to take the copyright, but the supporters groups managed to keep it fan owned.

Good thing to know about El Traffico (Galaxy vs LAFC) is that the rivalry essentially started right away, since most Chivas USA fans, who DESPISED the Galaxy, were converted to LAFC fans once their team dissolved and the new one was announced. So its basically a Part 2 of a super heated rivalry in the 2000s

You forgot a classic rivalry between the Chicago Fire and the Revs! Back in the early 2000s Chicago and the Revs had some awesome matches and stories over the years. Unfortunately it's become known as the Forgotten Rivalry because Chicago hasn't been good in a really long time. DannyTRadio has a great video about it I'll post the link! The Cascadia Cup is, too, with Vancouver Whitecaps FC competing against Seattle and Portland. But I agree that the Siunders-Timbers rivalry is more intense. If I have to name the derby Sporting Kansas City and St. Louis City, it would be called the Mississippi River Derby.

And you didn't include Atlanta United's super heated rivalry with Orlando City either. It's a heck of a lot more heated than some of these others you listed. Ever since Atlanta United put billboards up in Orlando before they even played a single match they have literally hated each other. I still remember Josef Martinez posting something on social media making fun of Orlando City. lol.

I have a highlight music video on my channel of Clint Dempsey... I had made it Really good. But the EPL blocked a few of his highlights. So I had to remove those from the video. Surprisingly none of his MLS stuff got copyrighted. The video isn't as clean and well timed as it originally was. But I kept the video up and just put in the title that it got edited because of copyright. lol.

Hudson River Derby is called that because the teams play in 2 separate cities/states. The Hudson River divides us. Also if you watch MLS they now only call it the New York Derby now, Hudson River Derby has been trademarked by the Hudson River Derby Foundation, created by 3 Supporter Groups (Third Rail from NYCFC & Viking Army with Empire Supporters Club from Red Bulls).

Yes the Hell is Real sign is still there. It’s on I-71 between Columbus and Cincinnati. The last Hell is Real Derby was probably the best of the series so far: when my Crew won the Eastern Conference Final IN Cincy over FCC (KFC) 😁😁😁😁🖤💛🖤💛 and then won the whole thing 🖤💛⭐️⭐️⭐️💛🖤

The first big rivalry in the early days of the MLS was DC United and the Columbus Crew as they were regularly battling for the Eastern Conference crown back then; here in Cin City (Cincinnati, OH) USA many of the Skins were DCU supporters even with attempts by the Crew to secure a beachhead here with Local 513, which quickly folded their tent when FC Cincinnati was formed, first playing in the lower division USL Championship before given the MLS expansion franchise in 2018. And of course, the acrimony with That Side Up North (to paraphrase an expression made by legendary American College football coach Woody Hayes) came already built in, starting with FCC's upset of Columbus in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup, not to mention the trash talking between our two groups on this thread which you can expect almost anytime.......

Tbh, NYCFC have a clear identity in the way that we play, its just a lot of turnover but we plug and play really well. Our problem last season was that we brought in players too late into the season.

ACES. Any Club Except Seattle. The Portland Timbers have a friendly rivalry with the Whitecaps while the rivalry with the Sounders is a lot more contentious going back to NASL and USL. It's a unwritten rule to not wear Timbers team colours outside of the fish Taco (Lumen Field) as you may get your beaten up like a Big Brother would beat up his smaller brother for showing him up.

Well you got the Colonial Cup between Philadelphia Union and D.C. United because its the Home of the Declaration of Independence vs The United State Capitol. Then you got Philadelphia Union vs New York Red Bulls. This Derby can get crazy, they are always close. Comeback games and Playoff meetups. Then you got Philadelphia vs New York City FC which is kind of not as big as Philly vs NYRB but they do get into a heated games.

@@discoveringmls well by the time Atlanta joined the league the only other team in the southeast was Orlando, being the closest team in proximity to Atlanta, alongside the longstanding state rivalry between Florida and Georgia pretty much lead to the beef thats still between the 2 clubs

If they can play meaningful matches, Montreal and New England can be a very good rivalry. One of the biggest rivalries in North America is Montreal Canadiens vs Boston Bruins. The rivalry on the ice can translate very well on the pitch.

4:04 I believe there’s a mistake here. RSL and Colorado Rapids never faced off in an MLS Cup Final. RSL beat LA Galaxy in a penalty shootout in the 2009 MLS Cup Final. The Rapids beat FC Dallas in the 2010 MLS Cup Final.

The Galaxy fans are very fair weathered and they play in Carson which isn’t even in LA, LAFC is the real team of Los Angeles. Also DC is more about grassroots and developing players while the Galaxy just have a bunch of money and buy big names.
