T-Mac was my favorite player growing up, but he should definitely be on that list. I mean all of those guys on that list made it much further than he ever has. He was arguably the best player in the NBA & the best SG at some point, yet he has never made it out of the 1st round, that's pretty crazy & sad when you think about it. Me being such a huge fan of his & watching his career very closely, watching those playoffs series during his Houston days against the Mavs & Jazz twice, he choked a lot in all 3 series, with huge key turnovers or missed shots. I loved that dude growing up, but he just didn't have that "It" factor. He wasn't HIM in the playoffs, that's why the only thing people talk about when they bring him up is his 13pts 33 seconds as if that's his biggest & only accomplishment. Just a record in a regular season game. T-Mac was super talented, but didn't have that drive & mentality that Kobe always had, he's even admitted to not trying hard & not giving it his all at times.

The caliber of player someone is in the regular season vs the Playoffs matters a lot too. If you look at Malone’s regular season numbers and accolades you’d think he was one of the 10 if not 7 best players ever to play. But because of how vastly he underachieved in the Playoffs, he’s not thought of anywhere near that level. Also KD has the highest Game 7 scoring average in NBA history lol. He’s nowhere near the top 10 chokers. Also what are Russ’s moments that are consistently worse than CP3 in the Playoffs?

Idk maybe it’s just me but using shooting percentages decreasing is my main pet peeve for calling someone bad in the playoffs. Like yeah, they didn’t shoot 53% for an entire playoff run when they play the same team for two weeks when they can constantly scheme and gameplan on how to specifically slow you down as your team’s number one option. Not to mention how many times do you face teams with worse defense the further you get in the playoffs? The teams who advance are usually top 10 in defense or have the requisite skills on defense to slow down their opponents. Decreasing by like 4-5% isn’t the best but it ain’t like they going 2/25 every game

You're right. Changes in shooting splits from regular season to playoffs really need some additional context to know if they mean anything. But then there's the all time greats who don't have those kinda dropoffs. @@urbaindelva7869say 2 different series go to 7 games. Team A wins game 1, Team B wins games 2 and 3, then they trade off and Team B wins the series. Now a second series: Team A and B trade wins games 1-4, Team A wins game 5, then Team B wins games 6 and 7. In both scenarios Team A lost in 7 and Team B won 2 games in a row somewhere in the series, but the narrative difference is that in scenario 2 Team A “blew a 3-2 lead”, while they didn’t have the opportunity to blow said lead in scenario 1. Hope that makes sense

@@urbaindelva7869Basically whether they blow a 3-1 or a 3-2 lead, or a 2-1 lead (assuming the leading team wins one more game), they still lose in 7 games. The only difference is the order they lose their four games.

Randle had to get surgery the moment they got eliminated. Please dead the idea of him “choking” when the guy is playing with no ankles on either foot. Only other time he’s made the playoffs (where he performed bad) was his playoff debut where his spacing consisted of Elfrid Payton, Reggie Bullock, RJ Barrett, and Taj Gibson. Please bffr.

How dont you guys see the cp3 argument? His stats may have been fine overall but in big moments he consistently came up small. 2014. 2015. 2019. 2022. All choke jobs. This is my point a lot of time when I’m caping for Melo as well. He’s had the least amount of help between anyone on this list outside of 09, and when he had comparable help he went to the WCF. It just so happened he went up against the arguable goat in Kobe and those Laker teams. Melo never once in his prime ever had a guy that can also got create their own bucket or to take pressure off him come playoff time but yet he’s a choker 🙄

I honestly don't think Harden choked in 2015-2019 (against the Warriors specifically). I think it was more bad circumstance than anything. CP3 pulls his hamstring while their up 3-2 and they go on to miss 27 straight 3 pointers. In 2015, I know he had a 14 point elimination game but he had 45 points the game before and was trying to solo squad the Warriors. In 2016, he was in the same situation as 2015 and he got bounced in 5 again and dropped an efficient 35 in the closeout. His best showing against the Warriors was 2019 averaging an efficient 35/7/5 and just lost simply because Paul took a step back from the year before. I guess you can count 2019 as a choke if you believe KD was the "end all be all" of that Warriors squad even though that year should've shown you that they were still an amazing team with or without KD because they made the finals without him.

What about 2017? The Spurs are already missing Parker and Kawhi goes down in Game 5. He gets his shot blocked by Ginobili in Game 5, and then at home against a Spurs team without their 2 best players, puts up 10 points, 2/11, with 6 turnovers. And those stats are kind to him, as everyone including Harden fans, thought he was either point shaving or drugged that game. I’ll give him 2016 off because they were clearly outmatched, even though Curry missed most of that series, but 2015, you can’t set an NBA Playoff record for turnovers in an elimination game. And if we’re going to talk about the games where he played well and his team didn’t live up, what about when it was the other way around? Like in that Game 6 vs the Clippers where he was playing so badly they benched him for the rest of the game mid 3rd quarter, and then the infamous Josh Smith and Corey Brewer rally took place? I don’t hold that against him because they won, but I will hold against him the horrible turnovers he had in Game 6 of 2019 especially the terrible offensive foul that basically ended the game.

How you going to give it to Russ if you aren't giving it to Durant. When Durant left, what expectations did any of Russ's teams have to actually be successful in the playoffs? If anything he got teams over achieving than choking. You can't choke if now one is expecting you to actually do something. Chris Paul definitely deserves to be on this list , because his teams had actual championship expectations and his going down often was the catalyst to why they didn't win.
