Dude, people in their 30s complaining about being old is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I got hit by a car at 28 and experienced true fragility for the first time. I am really grateful I experienced the contrast between healthy and injured so starkly, because I learned such a deep appreciation for everything my body can do and how valuable it is, mentally, physically, emotionally, to be as fit as you're able. Without the shocking before/after experience, I'm not sure I wouldn't just become a victim of the slow decline into a sedentary life where every year comes with an additional few kg of fat replacing muscle. I heard someone say their traumatic injury and recovery was a preview of old age, and I couldn't agree more. It's so important to stave off fragility and not think that vitality and fitness are things you have no control over. Coming back from being so broken, I can vouch for the body's incredible ability to reverse damage and get strong. At 34, I am the fittest I've ever been and I feel better than I did at 24, physically and mentally. Even considering the limitations I have as a result of my injuries.

I got a double shoulder injury due to my love for acrobatics. It was very painful, and i poweres throigh it for about 6 months, until my dominant shoulder began feeling the same, and I finally did something about it. I never took my youth, health, and mobility for granted, but I started thinking a lot harder about longevity, being more careful and cautious with my body, because I really did not want to experience that pain or lack if independence again. My left arm healed within 4 months of beginning therapy, my dominant took about a year and a half, but thankfully, they both made a full recovery without any invasive methods. Huge wake up call at 23.

Im 42, and let me tell you all, 30s isthe decade where you can level up. In general you still have enough health and vitality to be active, but you realize that society's expectations are garbage and you can throw them away. Get a little exercise, moisturize your skin, drink water. Indulge some hobbies if you can. Life can be awesome.

just turned 30. Due to circumstances out of my control, I had to start over from scratch at the beginning of this year. New career, new city, new home and zero savings. only thing that I can say is a big plus is I am almost have no debts. This channel is really a big factor in the fact that I am somewhat confident that I can still make it and achieve any financial goals even though I feel I am having a really late start compared to other people I know. I’m 30 and feel like I’m starting adulthood from scratch. Due to a break up and being laid off within the same year I had to move back in with my mom. However I finally did a career change I’ve been wanting and although it sucks I’m at entry level again I feel a lot happier these past 6 months. I think things are starting to align.

I'm 32 as of this September, but turning 30 was really a slap in the face. It was a completely unceremonious day, puncuated by nothing but a trip to the DMV to renew my license and tags. The one friend I had made plans with to celebrate bailed on me, and my family all live out of state and are pretty emotionally distant, so I really had to sit with myself and think about many of the things you mentioned here, from who I choose to associate with, to what my future would hold in terms of career and finances. Your segment about inertia is truly on point, since it took a lot of struggling through repeated disappointments and the universe going from wispering to shaking my shoulders and screaming in my face to make a lot of important changes. I'm happy to say that in just two years, virtually everything in my life has turned around for the better, and although it didn't come without some serious trials or any cost, I don't have so many regrets or hangups about my choices now.

I turn 32 this year and despite ~ the state of the world ~, I really feel like my life has improved so much in my 30's so far! I have prioritized my mental, emotional, financial, and physical health. I've invested in my relationships and re-evaluated my priorities. I'm happier than ever and I still feel like I have so many opportunities to improve my life even more. Aging is scary but I try to remember that it's a blessing to be alive and to make decisions about my future that align with my values. Thank you so much for this video!!

5:00 I'm so glad you talked about this!! It's so linked to the Loneliness epidemic. If we're selfish, who wants to be friends with a selfish person? This also affects the dating scene, everybody is now so individualist and self-centered even more so post COVID. Like we've forgotten how to live and relate to other people.

So we need to be honest- we are a consumer economy. Everything is driven by people who consume stuff. We all want to take advantage of that. That being said, one can combine some of the suggestions- about not consuming stuff you don't need/consume high quality stuff to taking care of yourself. If you have access to local farmers or growers- consume the locally grown food. It's more expensive, but higher quality than brought in food; it's better for you since it's far closer to being fresh; it TASTES better; it's good for the environment; and it's good for the local economy.

Hey Chelsea, I know you're obviously American and so is most of your audience and so this type of oversight is incredibly common and in no way does it make me less interested in you as a long time subscriber. However, being Portuguese, I am always on the lookout for "only available in the US" or the beautiful but incredible rare "available worldwide" when it comes to sponsors. Since I didn't hear it or see it in the description I went to the site, started filling in the info (since the website here also doesn't state regional info) only to get to the question "where do you live? (We can currently only work with US citizens.)" Still an expected outcome in my experience, but as it wasn't stated upfront and clearly, I still spent some time getting hyped about a fruitless avenue. So as a humble international listener, I would just ask that you include what regions your sponsor is available in, in the future. Thanks and keep up the great work! As a 31 yo, I loved this video and it validated a lot of my own thinking along the same lines of feeling like a "full" adult who for the "first" time has enough knowledge, self-awareness and intention to construct a life of my own choosing rather than stay on the rails I had been in for most of my life previously.

I turned 31 this year and am trying to work on the physical health and friendships aspect of being in my 30s. I manage my finances fairly well, slowly building savings and retirement fund. I don’t think there’s a problem with anyone thinking they are old. The problem is people thinking old is bad and young is good. Old has good and bad aspects, as does young, and probably needs to be viewed on a spectrum rather than at the extremes. Young and old are relative anyway. To my niece I am old, to my father I am young. Please consider reconsidering your thoughts about old and young.

I have been a long time viewer.... and being 32 I was very intrigued to watch this one. I will state however, that these scenarios around employment sound good to your average worker who should be looking for better opportunities. But as a person with a disability, my job, no matter how stressful it can become at times, is dependent on a multitude of factors that accommodate what is best accessible for me to live as independently as possible, while still being affordable of course. I am no on SSI and have been with my employer since the age of 21. I've shifted between 3 roles in the past 11 years, but the decision to "switch things up" is yes a fear of the "unknown" but also I am factoring in what alterations I would need to make to my routine and transportation arrangements. Not to mention that my current colleagues have a general understanding of my condition and are familiar with my limitations but also I am comfortable enough to know that I no longer really NEED to explain my condition to those I work with. Have you ever done an episode in any way related to living with a disability?

As a 33 year old. I feel this. Maintaining friendships has been harder for me in my 30s. For one I have a mental disability, so communicating can be harder for me but the friends I've made in my 20s are getting married, having kids, and moving away for work (the cost of living has increased so much and so unaffordable, people are relocating to cheaper areas). Which makes hanging out a lot harder and while communicating online has helped maintaining the relationship. It can only do so much because I miss physical interactions.

I turned 26 this year. I feel like I'm mature emotionally, I just lack the financial stability that comes with your 30s. I lost 25 pounds for my new year's resolution(I stuck to it! 🥳), I became vegan, and started practicing yoga and calisthenics. I also dropped a friend of 10 years because he was acting stupid and I realized that I outgrew him. I'm very excited to get older and having wisdom from women like you and a community like this will help tremendously as I continue to grow. Thank you very much ❤

I'm getting to the point where I feel like I really just have to let go of any idea of how things are supposed to be or where I am supposed to be at. I'm not going to really retire in the traditional sense. I am not going to have wealth like previous generations. I am not going to have security like my parents. My experience is going to be very different. My struggles are going to be different. I have to live with less expectation and less attatchment. It's just the way it is. In a way it's better. It's a more spiritual existence. In another way it's more stressful and materially difficult. Ultimately, just different

YESSSS to the Friendship Inventory!! I just recently turned 32 and one of my resolutions this year was to stop putting in effort with friends, and let go of toxic friends. I got so BORED of being the one putting in the effort all the time - texting, arranging meet ups, being the one travelling to visit, paying expensive travel and hotel costs and also hanging on to friendships that were fading (on their part, not mine), guess what happened this year? I've lost friends completely (including a 12 year friendship) and I only had three visitors this ENTIRE YEAR. So be it, it's exhausting and I have instead invested that time more selfishly into myself instead - like building my youtube channel, doing house renovations and exploring hobbies. I understand that everyone has their own lives and naturally people come and go, but life is too short for one way and poor quality friendships, OUT with old and in with the new, like minded, high value friends who choose you back - I'm ready for you!!

One thing I did as I turned 30 was made an appointment with an actual dermatologist. Not an aesthetician, but a medical doctor. I wanted to talk about my skincare regimen, do some myth busting about hyped products and ingredients, and get the real information about how to care for my skin as I get older. This appointment was not covered by my insurance and cost about $300 out of pocket but it probably saved me hundreds, if not thousands. I’m 45 now, my skin looks great and I’ve never been out here chasing the latest skin care trend or miracle ingredient. Nor have I ever had some complicated bundle of products to layer on. I just stick to things they told me are proven to work, which are not even very expensive and mostly available at the drug store.

I am 26 and I plan on being debt free by 30 (basically pay off student loans). I've been tracking my spending since Jan 1st of this year and i am way more aware of the spending I do especially if its something more impulsive.

5:00 I have felt this for a minute now. I was born in 2000, I feel like I kind of get lumped into both demographics at times, and as someone with plenty of mental health issues, unfortunately sometimes we do have to just "suck it up"and do things. Even if it's something like not canceling plans when you really don't think you want to. More often than not, whenever I want want to cancel a plan for a self-care day, but go anyway, I often end up having a lot of fun and bonding with people which is a wonderful, sometimes even healing feeling

I can't _staaaaand_ those "How I saved [large sum] by [late 20s]" articles. every time - with *_extremely_* rare exceptions - it's just children of affluence getting highly paid "Bullshit Email Jobs" (not my terminology, just a popular framing) at a company owned by their dad or another family member

I've honestly been thinking about a lot of the things you mentioned here. It didn't start until i turned 31 with a bunch of mid-20s friends. They wanted to go drinking, and i wanted to go home and watch movies together. 😅
