Oh come on! I lived in Daytona many years, and it most certainly IS a dump full of really low, lowlifes. In fact, Volusia County is one of the lowest, of not THE lowest rated counties in the entire state. Keep in mind that the Daytona mainland is different than Daytona Beach, which is different than South Daytona, which is different than Daytona Beach Shores. This is in descending order, from the most ghetto, to the cleanest and safest.

He nailed Daytona though. I remember that place, and not fondly either. Developers and the France family run (ruin?) the city. The shot at 1:45 is of what they call downtown. The last I remember, there was a coffee house I didn't like called Marley's, a Christian Science Reading Room, a Christian coffee house, some antique stores, and a few bad art galleries. The library was nice, that was about it, other than the bridge that brought you over to the beaches.

Back in the day, I worked at WDW one summer between junior and senior years in college and lived in the Kissimmee - St Cloud area. Seemed OK then although clearly overrun with tourists. Did he mention Crystal River, FL? I just stopped there on a trip and that has to be the most backwoods backwards place I’ve ever been. I’ve never felt so out of place and the energy there just felt strange, like I had to get out of there. If you decide to travel there for the springs just camp somewhere nearby and bring all your own food. The hotels and Airbnbs are not good and it’s impossible to find something even reasonably decent to eat.

I grew up in Fort Pierce. It's really not that bad. There are some really beautiful beaches, and downtown Fort Pierce is worth a visit as well. I live in the next town over now, but we own a business in Fort Pierce and have friends and family who live there. Definitely doesn't deserve to be #2 on this list. The whole list is out of whack. Yes, that's what I was thinking I just moved to Ormond beach a year ago and haven't seen all of Florida yet but the worst place I've seen so far is def Jacksonville and south Daytona. I saw a lot happen just in the brief stop I made there on the way. I don't think this list is correct at all lol It doesn't mean everyone from the bad areas are bad either, some are just poor and can't get out so I hate casting judgement on places but Jacksonville was def a place I wouldn't want to be long term.

(1) Florida has always suffered from "below average" incomes - tourism, agriculture, and construction are "seasonal" jobs.
