Bruh... I have a park near me, tiny thing but really fun for learning on and It's right beside a basketball court. So, all the people who come to play basketball sit around in the park and they let their kids run all over it using the ramps as slides. Most annoying thing ever. Then when you run into a kid cause they bolt in front of you while your focused on an obstacle they blame you for it.

The most bewildering thing i ever saw was a husband standing on main pyramid flying a kite on opening day with family of 4, oldest child abot 10, in park very crowded when there were about 200 skaters. The dumbasses stood on pyramid staring up at the kite together as a family event.

I feel like I've transitioned through a lot of these myself over time lol Currently I would say I'm coming out of being a mild lurker right now. I was in a bad car accident 8 years ago and only just finished physical therapy last year. So, I spent a lot of time lurking through the whole scene, staring at people at the skatepark like a creep. But mainly because I miss it so much. Now at 32 this year is my first year back skating since the accident, and boy am I out of shape. I feel like it's causing me to be the grumpy old guy because I do complain a lot about getting stiff and tired quickly, I also complain a lot about how I used to be pretty advanced and now can barely kickflip on flat. I do, however, keep most of these complaints to myself and use them as motivation to get back to my prior skill level at the bare minimum.

You will start getting your stamina back when you were younger. Everytime you skate, you will notice you can skate longer with less fatigue than the last time. You got this!

Bikers move very fast around the park. Especially in a smaller park they can probably lap the thing 6 times before you can do a single trick. Trust me, it's probably his fault not yours.

A real skateboarder will be happy to see anyone and everyone on a skateboard even if they just started and a real skateboarder will also introduce themselves and offer to teach them some techniques that make the trick they are trying to learn easier. Skateboarding in general and especially learning how to Ollie is one of those things that your muscles need time to remember the movement. Nobody just gets on a skateboard and can immediately do an Ollie that's unrealistic and if anyone says so they're misleading you.... Your muscles will know what to do if you just keep at it

I'm 51 years old and I appreciate skateboarding more now than ever before!.... I can't do the stuff that I used to when I was younger but, I love just cruz'n around and finding empty pools and park pools . My local skatepark is brewed with local talented rippers who are the most kindest , awesome human beings I have the privilege I get to watch and skate with ! Haven't met a single type of those people. I might be the last one, but at like a really softer level. I've thrown my board, I have raged at failinng to learn tricks, but that is mainly because I get really hurt while doing them. Getting hit in the shin and hitting your ankles, and bruising your legs is not really nice, when it happens like 202833 times. Man, it gets to me at times, because there is that one hit that you can't tolerate anymore and it hurts like hell. But, yea, that is mainly it. I really have never seen any of those stereotypes. Even kids are pretty cool and chill. Maybe my country is just built different 🤣

I enjoy the x games, I collect skate decks, subscribed to thrasher and only ride cruisers mainly cuz im 6'10ft and I don't see any board being able to support my weight and I don't think my body is made for anything more than cruising and i wouldn't wanna do anything risky that could hurt me anyway because im enlisting in the military soon and i dont need a injury while trying to do that. So far been called a "poser" by a few people. One reason being I don't know how to ollie or kick flip, and the other reason being my focus is mainly on collecting decks. If anyone could give their honest opinion on it, it would be appreciated.

My personal opinion is that is the worst well hold on for just a sec I personally am a scooter person and I have a pro scooter with the bottom rapped in oil slick but anyways I do not snake people I'm always aware of my surroundings and the skateboarders I dislike the most are the skaters that are mean to a scooter'er even if the scooter'er isn't snaking any one and being aware of there surroundings and being nice to others again this is just my opinion.

Not sure if this is under the lurker, but I would call it the skate sabotager or skatepark trasher. I hate it when I have to pick up trash like peanut shells, firecrackers ect. before I skate. Sometimes I have had to pick up handfuls of plastic beads or other items in bowls or other areas. Seems like someone purposely threw them in to sabatoge a skater.

i really wanna start skateboarding but im just way too anxious and scared 😭 and im definitely too scared to go to a skatepark because i know im probably just gonna be laughed at or smth also, does anyone maybe have some tips or advice? i havent started yet so it may be good to get some advice from people :)

What is funny is in the 90s l used to wear skate Tshirt for the great artwork but l never skated. Some people got mad and l never understood why.

about the poser. i think i am a poser too but i have with a good reason. Half a year ago i broke my leg with skating and i now sort of have a trauma of skating. i've tried to get back to it but i can. i am still wearing some skater clothes tho Does that count?

Nah u aint a Poser u just little scared to go on the board again maby just drive around in your city or just stand on your board at home and do standing manuels that can help u a little bit to get the feeling of it.
