Recently started watching this show as well like a couple months ago and I gotta say that for a CW show it's really good. One of the best shows on TV and easily one of the best Sci-Fi shows ever. Lexa was definitely one of the best characters. So sad when she died.

This is the episode where everything they have set up from the first 2 1/2 seasons finally all ties together. It is easily one of the best episodes of the entire series. Even with the emotional stakes and the issues around Lexa's death, it is objectively a very good episode and deserves to be praised alongside the best of episodes of sci-fi on television in 2016. Pike plays a large role in setting up a Octavia's storyline for seasons to come. I can understand why you would think he is unnecessary, Marketa, seeing as you stopped watching in season 3 but he is very important to her character going forward even as far as seasons 6 and possibly 7. As far as Raven goes, keep watching guys. Raven, and by extension Lindsay Morgan, is freaking amazing this season. We are just now getting to the part where everything coalesces and the real villains take the forefront. There is a lot more to see of Raven, ALIE, and Jaha this season. The books and the show are similar in name only and like three characters. WB bought the rights from the author Kass Morgan, and then turned it into their own thing. This is an instance of the show/movie/adaptation being leagues better than the books.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the day this episode came out. I was backstage during a production of High School Confidential waiting for my next scene while reblogging funny star wars posts to show some of the others during a scene where a few of us have to look at my phone for a while and laugh. That's when I got a bunch of notifications from twitter and discovered the absolute shitstorm unfurling online. I remember wanting to cry, but I mostly remember the rage. The reason I started watching The 100 is because I learned that there was a canon lgbt character and pairing. I was excited that there would be lgbt rep. Then they kill her off in one of the worst ways possible. I think that was when I first heard of the phrase "bury your gays", but it sure as hell wasn't the last time. Even after all this time Lexa is still one of my favorite characters. LONG LIVE HEDA!

But who the fuck said Lexa and Clarke was cannon? They weren't dating AT all, they had one kiss and then they slept together once. They didn't say I love you to each other and it was only season 3... there were literally nothing that edicated these two would end up together at the end of the show. I think a lot of people made their relationship bigger than it was. Their relationship wasnt that deep guys. And lexas death made this whole season make sense. She created the bridge we needed to understand the plotlines and understand the whole world we have seen for 2 seasons. Also the show never focused on the characters sexuality, because it was the least important part of the show, in this world, sexuality just is, they don't label themselves, so it wasnt about killing a gay character,. It was about killing a commander and see that she was but one in a long line of commanders and that she descended from Becky. It was about showing the history of the world. They didn't just kill her because she was gay. And before going off, I'm in the community myself, but I jsug saw it as moving forward the story. I somewhat liked Clarke and Lexa, they had their moments, but ultimately I thought they made each other weak, so lexa dying made Clarke strong again.

The best comparisson is the "women in refrigerators" trope, where it is women that are used as motivational props instead of real characters. There has been quite a bit of research on this, and it is actually very common, especially in media from the 80-early 2000s, the mortality rate of LGBTQ characters is hugely out of proprtion to all other characters. It is also a very damaging trope, since itresults in nearly no LGBTQ relationships having a happy ending on TV or in movies. It is just in the last decade that it has become better, and even now it is still pretty bad. Since The 100 had been playing up their LGBTQ credentials for some time when this episode aired, the reaction was warranted for feeding into such a horrible trope. It is also hacky writing.

i honestly agree with marketa, season 3a was so annoying with all the politics, and the way they did bellamy's character was so cruel. he did have his reasons but they didn't include enough of it in the show for the viewers to understand, even the actor was a little frustrated with that. The ALIE storyline is one of the best storylines of the show, and the rest of the season picks up a lot. I used to think maybe it wasn't on the same level of game of thrones, and i still don't think so, but it's definitely near it and there's a lot of influences from game of thrones in the show, and honestly the 100's season 3 >>>>>>> game of thrones season 8.

Thing is, nobody's really a villain apart from ALIE. That's what the show is about... grey characters that have both good and bad sides. It's about making tough decisions and living with the consequences. Clark had to kill 300+ people in Mount Weather to save her people, Bellamy killing 300+ grounders on the field because of his pain, Pyke becoming a real tyrant against Grounders because of his past experiences when in fact, he's not bad deep down and so on. It might seem like there are numerous villains but no, there is one villain (ALIE) and the others are simply people fighting for their own cause. The more you'll advance through the show, the clearer you'll see this but anyway, great reaction ^^ I'm glad that all of you are now liking it.

This is the episode that shattered my heart to pieces. I still can't watch Lexas death without breaking into tears. Lexa was more than a character for so many of us. She represented us, what we wanted to be, she was strong, powerful, loving, kind, fierce, smart, and only wanted peace and the best for her people. She was an icon, our role model. Her death sent shockwaves through all of TV. The Lexa fandom including myself went up in arms, we created something beautiful from something so awful and heartbreaking. We got over 40 hashtags trending on Twitter, raised over 100 thousand dollars for the Trevor project in Lexas name, created Clexacon which is basically a gay comic con to honor and remember Lexas legacy. We created books, fan fiction, and we became a family. Lexas death will always be remembered and serve as a warning to other writers and producers what happens when you queer bait, or lead on or break a queer fandoms heart. And i get that Alycia was on another show, that was perfectly fine. Alyica even said that she wanted to continue playing lexa and AMC where willing to negotiate with Jason and CW so She can still be on the 100. Yes i am pissed off she died, but that's not what made Every one so mad, its that Jason lead us on in saying Lexa wasn't going to die, the writers purposely baited the fandom in, and promised us that 307 was going to be the best episode for Clexa, that Clexa were going to finally be happy. And then there is the way Lexa was killed. A STRAY BULLET how fucking lazy, and so stereotypical. Lexa was a warrior who deserved a warriors death. It is over 3 years later and I still get worked up about her death. It still breaks my heart. I have to disagree about the Pike storyline being unneeded. The chaos Pike caused whithin Arcadia's leadership is what allowed for Alie to get a lot of followers very fast. Everyone was preoccupied with what Pike was doing, and only Abbie was really looking into the whole city of light thing, when in reality she doesn't have the knowledge or reasources to do much about it as the key is a technological creation. Had Pike and the inner struggles in Skycru's camp not been there Jaha would have been stopped a lot earlier, and Alie would not have almost succeeded.

@@mikejake3136 I actually really liked the way season 3 was handled. I think it was reasonable that a part of skycru would be against an alliance and would be afraid of the grounders. However I do agree that the writers could have come up with a better reason for Bellamy to be on Pike's side. I also feel like the distance between the two storylines in the first half of the season is what made episode 7 so mind-blowing. I remember being so pessimistic about the writers' ability to carry these two seemingly unrelated conflicts for an entire season, and then ep 7 dropped and i was left speechless by the world building that they delivered.

I never get why people liked Lexa so much. I got it in season 2, but season 3, she became so weak and useless in so many parts. She lost what made I cool I think the moment she went on her knees in front of Clarke. And seriously, lexa and Clarke wasmr dating, they didn't actu6have that much chemistry and they weren't that deep of a relationship or friendship between them. They knew each other for what? 7 months or so? If you look back, we honestly didn't get a lot of them talking to each other about anything but war and plans... it's not like they had this deep profund relationship. 🤣 sure I cried when Lexa died because it was heartbreaking, but her death made the whole show move forward and got us and insight into who the commander is and the world they live in.

and i never thought i wont cry when 13:25 came but... yea.. still teary as ever... also so TRUE when they killed one of the best character of the show "just" like that.. so sad really.. but watching all the seasons and rewatching the show a couple of times.. everything happens have its moments why they did things.. like thinking way back season 1 Murphy is still an a** then meet Murphy Season 3 and to the latest.. also Bellamy's storyline in this season.. it is one of his turning point and his one reason for his change to the next season to be better and also... poor Clarke her struggle will be much more and everyone of the show.. I hope you will continue until the latest season and wont stop reacting this show coz, this show is one of the best Sci-fi i ever seen with great storyline and plot twist.. the show will keep you guessing in a good and also bad way.. but still you'll want more THANKS FOR THE GREAT REACTION on this EPISODE!
