Hey whatsup guys OSG here with the big one, everyone who watches my stuff will know that the Commodore 64 is the system I cover and like the best. I have done a few best c64 games lists but never one on this scale, saying that even with 100 games I was still struggling as had to leave great games out…but hey that just proves how good this system. Like I say there will be games missing and also this is my order, I haven’t gone off ratings on lemon or anything I’ve just gone of pure enjoyability factor mixed with a lot of nostalgia too. This is a list that I’m sure will whet the appetite for most avid C64 fans and I would class as essential playing on the system
Ok I’m not going to waffle all the way through this video as even the biggest OSG fans would get sick of hearing my monotone voice in a video that exceeds 50 minutes.
Right intros over let’s take a look at what I would consider the 100 best Commodore 64 games ever made…in order of greatness

@@oldstylegaming love your channel man... Between you and Kim Justice, this console-loving yank has learned so much about the 80s home micros! I actually ended up buying myself a C64 recently and started messing around with Basic just for fun, despite being a professional programmer who started with C++ 😅 something about the old micros is just so accessible and alluring, and I'm having a ton of fun playing Armalyte, Katakis, Soul Force... Who knew the C64 had so many great shooters!

Great list. What I like about your videos is that everything is clearly labelled, year and name, and you don't spend too much time on each title, just enough to appreciate the gameplay. So many other KZbinrs spend way too long, showing repetitive game footage.

Great video as always, thank you for taking the time to make this! Pirates in second place, Sid Meyer is my hero! I do believe that Batman, Paradroid, the untouchables, and especially commando deserved a higher place in the list. GI Joe should've been in the list in my opinion but still this list is awesome and I believe every C64 fan will be happy with it, thank you OSG!

I was around 12 years old when my Dad bought me a C-64 with a modem and printer. My favorite system off all time. I would take the bus Downtown where there were 2 Arcades next to each other. One was 18 and over because they showed peep shows or something. I think it showed X rated movies upstairs. I hung out in the all ages Arcade for hours. I would come home smelling like cigarette smoke but it was worth it. What the Commodore 64 did for me was to bring these Arcades into my home. Some of my all time Favorite C-64 games were.. Seven Cities of gold. Montezuma revenge. Forbidden forest Castle Wolfenstein Bruce Lee Aztec Test Drive The Detective So so so many. Thanks for your channel and bringing back some amazing memories

I have just watched a few of your videos so not sure if some of my Gotto games you ever played or enjoyed. But I am 100% watching everything you posted. It's like a mirror into my childhood. Some of my Favorite all time C-64 games were. Seven Cities of Gold. Randon generated map. adventure. Castle Wolfenstein . one of the first stealth based games. Sammy Lightfoot. Black Tiger. introduced the term Zenny coin I believe. Was used as in store currency The Detective Game. and I can't forget Samantha Fox Poker game.. lol. Love the Channel and wish ya the best.

That's some video to compile, well done! I'd have added in Tapper and taken out Little Computer People. LCP was tedious and boring at the time and only got worse with age. So little to do, and you can't even kill the little sod! 🙂

Awesome video. Like you say in the beginning, everyone's gonna have BIG differences in their lists, and to put together such a list is a complete labour of love. Covered most of my all time favourites (IK+, Elite, Impossible Mission, Archon... etc.etc.). As for me I wouldn't know where to start doing a top 100, let alone in order. Some games I'd have on my list that don't appear here would be: Rocketball, American 3D Pool, Beamrider, Bezerk Redux, David's Midnight Magic, Donkey Kong [2016],Toy Bizarre, Dino Eggs, Spindizzy, Crossfire, Gorf, Drelbs, Thrust, Lady Pac, Dropzone, Eagle Empire, Forbidden Forest, Encounter, TRAZ, Scramble version 1.14, Fetris, Bop n Rumble, TILT, Super Pipeline 1 and 2, SPLAT!, Smash T.V, Codename Mat 2, Guardian, Neptune Lander, High Noon, Fortress of Narzod, Galencia)..........The list is really endless, so again well done for creating a superb Top 100.

Ah, Toy Bizarre! That's a really great one that people don't really talk about. The trippy spooky mood is unlike anything else I've seen.

Thrust was one of my favourites that I think should be on the list, killer soundtrack as well. Impossible Mission is probably my favourite ever C64 game and I have been playing this recently, it's still such a playable game.

I bet this took some time and some tough decisions! Observations(I'm going to have to stop and pause a bit!) - Hard 'n' heavy - doesn't Ruff 'n' tumble look remarkably similar?! I mean even a bit beyond influenced by... Creatures 1 & 2 - I have to remind myself everytime i see the title that its most definitely not the creatures games on the PC I played! Lions of he Universe and soul force - Is that parallax scrolling of a form? the way the background is moving in relation to the foreground? Shadow over Hawksmill - that's some creepy atmosphere going on there! Ultima 5, I'm playing through 4 on master system emulation right now! I've had to trawl the internet to find things like the spellbook and the map but... Mayhem in monsterland looks like an Amiga game?! Commando - That music just explodes out doesn't it! I could have commented on far more but i was already dragging on, So great video and I hope your lad is doing well with the football! :)

The Commodore factory was in my home town so it was the height of cool when I was kid to own one. I was privileged enough to have both a 16 & 64. Just seeing Uridium again has made me smile. Honourable shout out to Psycho Hopper 😊

Mint video, soon as I saw Barry Mcguigans boxing was hooked. My first memory of the c64 was watching my older brother play exploding fist and beach head I was always tranced out by the music on exploding fist, waiting patiently hoping to get a go. Only to be told "nah the power packs too hot I'm switching I off" twat. Anyway some of these games could pass as NES games, some in my opinion are better the NES counterparts like Robocop, Dragon Ninja and platoon.
