That Rambo music is something that will forever be cemented into my mind. Martin Galway is the man. Every tune in that game is top notch, from the loader screen to in-game to the high score entry. So great. The game itself I never finished (until I found a cracked version with an invincibility cheat!) but I didn't care because the music was incredible.

The cream of the crap and the cream of the crop indeed! lol. You can't beat a bit o Bully! Finally I've feckin won at something! 👌Only played 3 off this list. The Great Escape was....great! I didn't mind the B&W either, cool game. Rambo! enough said, top tunes! and Platoon was just sublime. I vaguely remember buying a C64 compilation pack with those games included 🤔Great vid m8. Not a clunker in that one! That's fairly rare for such an affordable compilation. I can remember being blown away by Impossible Mission when my friend and I loaded it up for the first time. Speech _AND_ smooth and realistic animation AND intriguing gameplay? Who could ask for anything more?

I had this pack for my birthday when I was 10. So many great memories. I loved playing Miami vice when we found out if you kept driving left or right the car would get faster and faster. Till it reach ludicrous speed! And then hit the wall.

Exact same for me. I got that Christmas morning 1988. 45 now. I loved Platoon but I only had a black and white telly so could never see the trip wires lol. Loved Rambo too and was one of the few c64 games I could actually finish. Hated Top Gun. Hated Miami Vice too. I remember also the Trivial Pursuit game which was great. The darts game was good too.

I can never decide if Predator is a good game or not (didn't know the C64 had a bugged end of game/boss battle). I applaud it for following the plot of the movie so closely which is why I start to like it.... but there's barely much gameplay there, if you haven't seen the movie you won't have a clue what to do, and you can complete it in 7-8 minutes.

I had the same c64 package for Christmas 1988 to replace my Dragon 32k, platoon my fav commie game.

Glad to hear I wasn't so shit at Bullseye. I just blamed my light gun for being dodgy!

The strange thing is I had this set also as a kid.. and yet I have no memory of ever playing top gun from it.. it might of been a faulty tape or maybe I did play it once and never again.

My cousins had this C64 in 88. So I’ve played all of these games. Rambo was our favourite, great escape aswell . Though we had no idea what we were doing. Got my own C64 for Xmas a year later with the Light Fantastic Pack. Platoon, RoboCop and Batman the Caped Crusader. Great times

The last 3 games are the ones I remember very well. I never completed Rambo first time round, but I have seen your completion video. Platoon also scared me, especially the guys that come out from under the water in the tunnel levels.

Excellent video, this was my intro to gaming. I was too young to understand how to play some of the film games, so preferred the quiz games despite knowing none of the answers. And was blown away by how realistic Bob Holness looked :D !

Never had a C64 back in the day, but loved the box art of this pack, when I saw it as a kid. It’s still as lovely today.

Does it say "AIM-64 missile"? Was it an AIM-54 version designed by Commodore? :)

Yeh. This is the one i got as a kid too. Only problem was f'all worked. I was gutted 😂. Had to wait till new year to get a new one from Tandys. In the end i ended up with the light fantastic pack.

Of course, these were the first C64 I played too and thus the first games I ever played that I could call mine. Had a great time with Rambo and Platoon but was useless at them at 6 years old but i'm pretty sure i NEVER played Top Gun, which means we never managed to get it to load! Classic C64 experience!

The best graphics for Renegade and Gryzor were on the Amstrad, its just a shame the music wasnt up to much. As for karnov the best way to play it is either in the arcade or via mame.

Would love to see Game Set and Match and Fists n Throttles reviews for the C64 Had one of those plug in tv joysticks that had various c64 games on. Snapped the joystick doing the Biathlon section in Winter Games 😀
