I own a $300 pen, but it's a custom made fountain pen with a sterling silver pen clip and my name engraved on it that I got in place of a class ring. I do have pens that are ~$160, though, all fountain pens. They write incredibly well. That said, I would never spend over $2 for a ballpoint pen, or over $20 for a rollerball.
