That's why Greeks like Costas are the best at business. To Greeks, business is more than a business. Investors and 'Corporates' waffle on ad nauseum about 'family values' and 'organic growth', but we know they don't mean it. They are what I call Red Lobsters. They have a hedge funder's attitude to everything. If I lived in the US, or anywhere there's a Milos restaurant, that's where I'd choose to eat. Thank you Costas & family, and thank you Forbes !

What the heck you talking about???? Have you looked at the prices of their dishes? LMAO
@history_repeats8201
@history_repeats8201 28 күн бұрын
@@TheOtherKine You have to look at the total value of the experience, If you want cheap there many other options. The prices at Nobu and Carbone are about the same or I would say more. So Milos actually is very competitive. But, dont take my word, look at the numbers. 100 million revenue!! Greeks know how to run family business. Just look what they have done to the shipping sector!!!
@TheOtherKine
@TheOtherKine 28 күн бұрын
@@history_repeats8201 You literally described them as being equal to Nobu and Carbone, and listed hedge funds and such investors and large corps. How do you think Nobu got his start to get to be so big, and who eats at them places??? LMAO!!!! Sure, the food is OK at best, but the prices do not justify what ANY of these people serve, when there are hundreds of thousands of smaller, independent restaurants that are just as good if not better, just because they are not pretentious expensive drivel such as these high-flaunting places
@jer.milasot95
@jer.milasot95 26 күн бұрын
@@TheOtherKine I agree with you. Even if i was a multimillionaire i would maybe go once to one of these high end dining places. It's ridiculous to me to pay 300 for one bite, despite how tasty it is (although as i can see in google, Milos is way cheaper than that with somewhat reasonable portions). Doesn't matter if i am filthy rich, i enjoy food and there are thousands of places with really tasty food, big portions at normal cheap prices. I won't pay for food 20x higher for no reason. On the other hand though, that's just me and my thought process. You can't judge other people for choosing to eat at these restaurants. They are rich and they can waste their money on whatever they want. Same with clothing, some spend 2k for a t-shirt when you can buy one for 20 dollars. Some spend thousands on Apple products. People tend to pay for overpriced things all the time, when their real value is way lower

I guess we have another example of capitalism done right here...If I could get a share or even a job with this business, I would do so. Some people think that gambling with stock trading is how you are supposed to make money in capitalism. Apart from the fact that in gambling the House ALWAYS wins (and we are not the House), this is the kind of business that will persevere even through hard times.
@C_R_O_M________
@C_R_O_M________ 26 күн бұрын
You just contradicted yourself with that comment. First you wondered whether you could own a share of this business and then you maintained that involvement with stocks is gambling and trading (which is not). It's like you said, owning a piece of a business which YOU choose to be part of. Capitalism allows you to do that and that's great. BTW, I live from this (and I'm not a trader!).

@@C_R_O_M________ My comment is based on my understanding that it is possible to own part of a business as a shareholder without the business itself being publically traded. If I understand this wrong, please let me know and I will edit my comment accordingly. Milos in the Athens Hilton is a shadow of what it once was. I loved going there. It was excellent, the ingredients that were used were truly wonderful, but now it is unfortunately merely overpriced and sadly mediocre. A forewarning tale of expanding one's empire to the extent that without the right management and care taken in sourcing the very best ingredients, things can and truly do go downhill ....

%60 of diners were Greek Owned , Greece has thousands of years of food experience including during famines and disasters, the Greek diet sources from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the sea frome meat to vegetarian and in one month you can eat different everyday, wheras you cant do that with asain of pasta italian its too monotonous even though they have a variety of sauces. And that is another difference with Greek food it has minimal herbs and spices because they question what are you trying to hide with all the spices?
