She was about to go out the same way Lincoln went out, on their knees surrendering saving a few their people. I think it was a good way to end Octavia arc, but too easy, it’s harder to keep her and face her demons.

Great episode, great reaction! I remember watching this and feeling just like you’re describing. Everyone is making horrible decisions, making me hate them, only for the show to turn it around and bring me to like them again in the next scene... It’s crazy, but good. Also, “I loved her so much, but it’s nothing compared to how much I love you.” This quote always breaks me, so much emotion in it.

Octavia’s plan would of worked. Kane screwed over his own people because he blames everything on Octavia to absolve himself of Abby and his own guilt. The only reason she needed to kill the people in the cafeteria in the 1st place is because he tuned his back on her & forced her hand. He’s such a hypocrite. Octavia’s not perfect by as long shot but at least she owns up to what she’s done

@@hypello9534 Burning the farm actually made sense if you think about it. And Clarke almost killed Octavia twice so not sure your point. Amazing how only Octavia is deemed evil when every other character has done equally, if not worse, stuff. Lastly, as stated by both Indra and Diyoza....she would have won the war....had Kane not sold out Wonkru. Hardly selfish wanting a better life for your people. I know I'd prefer fresh food and water to eating half rations and drinking recycled urine under the constant threat of missiles and waiting for the farm to fail completely.

@@hollihayes7803 clarke made allot of shit acts. So did bellamy. And i said it very often that bellamy shouldve been put to justice for killing 300ppl in their sleep. Ive been saying my stuff agianst the characters the time they deserved it. What is the funny thing that octavia gets free passage no matter the scale of her crimes.. thats BS. They all have blood on their hands but octavia just crossed the line way to much. Offcoruse kane at that time didnt support octavias side. She was about to kill him earlier. A horrible leader. Mccrury was deffo even worse but he didnt know at the time

@@hypello9534 Of course Kane knew McCreary was a sociopath and wanted all of Wonkru dead. But Kane made it clear he didn't care about Wonkru....he willingly sold them out to try to get back at Octavia. I get he hated her, but it's kind of funny really considering he's the whole reason she had to sacrifice herself to save everyone. I seriously don't understand how people can say Octavia's actions were worse than Clarke or Bellamy, or anyone else's for that reason. I actually don't even condemn Clarke all that much honestly because, like Octavia, her actions were for her people. Even if I disagreed with what she did, there was a reason for it. Bellamy flat out hung an innocent kid, tortured an innocent man and murdered 300 people for no reason and everyone gives him a free pass. Everything Octavia did was to save her people and fight for them to have a better life. I just don't get how that's a bad thing when she does it, but OK when everyone else does it. No one condemns Diyoza for leaving 800 people to die in a barren wasteland....but that was pretty damn ruthless to me. I love Diyoza but it is shocking to me that literally no one cares about Wonkru except Octavia and she's condemned for fighting for them.

Octavia didn't need redemption. She thinks she does, because she hates herself, and has for 4 long years, because morally compromised adults made her sacrifice herself and left her to deal with it alone. She did EVERYTHING for her people and she was willing to die for them, didn't hesitate for one second to step in front of a hail of bullets. Cannot believe the hypocrite Bellamy couldn't even say he loved her....i mean we all know he doesn't, but damn give the girl something. She was never in it for power, which this scene proves -it was always about saving her people. Everyone blames Octavia for the massacre, but it was Kane's fault and Clarke's fault. Clarke ruined the element of surprise while Kane gave away their battle plans.

Kane and Clarke were not fucking up, neither side was a good option, Octavia was going to KILL Madi, A CHILD and her stupid fanatics were either gonna go along with it or force her to become a leader of their people. Octavia definitely should not have survived, if she would have died right there then that wouldve been a good ending but Octavia is clearly the writer's favorite character so. Also Octavia did not bear it for her people she made them eat eachother and bear the fact that they're now cannibals, it is no where close to the same as what Clarke did to save her people.

I think Octavia did bear it for Wonkru in the sense that she made herself the scapegoat for the Dark Year. She took Abby’s advice and took away people’s choice so that the survivors (those who would have CHOSEN to eat) wouldn’t drown in depression after seeing their loved ones who had chosen NOT to eat wither away and die. Now, everyone (including the self-righteous hypocrites, Abby and Kane) can just blame Octavia and call her a monster/devil - their hands were tied due to the extreme measures O took. Because Octavia gave them no choice (thanks to Abby during that private conversation), she shoulders the blame and more of the psychological impact of the cannibalism. And that was a choice she made for her people. (Won’t justify all her actions but the cannibalism and making it a crime not to eat should have been laid directly at Abby’s feet, who was basically the manipulative puppet master behind the scenes).
