I don't think there's a big list of best endings to nba careers. Most play until they couldn't physically because the money is just too good and many didn't want to face the question of what if? if they retired with their health intact. The best I could think of is tim duncan. On his last season they went 67-15 for which should have been number one on any given year but that was the 73-9 warriors year. By the time the playoffs arrived, their old legs and a still growing kawhi just couldn't handle a prime durant and westbrook. After that he was just gone but his rep for not missing the playoffs is intact. IMO that's a better goodbye than a farewell tour where your teammates pass you everything for some meaningless scoring night .

It seems that I may have slightly different information than you good sir. Michael played for the Wizards in hopes to get a part ownership stake with that franchise, which did not happen but set up the table for him to eventually become the owner of the Charlotte Hornets and become a 2 billion dollar man. Playing for the Wizards was actually the best economic move he ever made. Everything that man did was painstakingly looked at and analyzed in order to get the absolute most money and competitive edge.
@Farwell3d
@Farwell3d 2 жыл бұрын
He has a part ownership stake that he sold back in order to play. He then expected to get his front office job and stake back after he retired the last time, but Abe Polian decided MJ wasn't the right guy to run the franchise/stabbed him in the back, depending on which side the story is told from.
