I think perhaps he had been eating so many of the regular size ones before the challenge, that he may have given himself flavour fatigue early which could explain his performance or less than average enjoyment of this challenge. I do hope that my comment is seen in a light hearted joking manner as intended and not a genuine jab at Randy's performance. My apologies if the latter is the case.

I eat those almost every day as a snack or breakfast on the go or just grab couple from my freezer and warm them in the air fryer. I usually skip the egg butter unless it is a weekend because I am too lazy to boil and chop the eggs. But the egg-butter is definetely worth it when I get myself to make some (I also like it on top of bread). Btw it is written riisipiirakka with an extra i :)

My mother always mashed my eggs with butter and I had to for breakfast (TN). I made it for my husband of 24 years a while back and he said “why have you never made this before”? He loves it. He has it as a snack or for breakfast on his low carb diet.

I've always wanted to try a normal sized one of these things (also called Karelian pasty in English), but I've never been to Finland and I've never seen Finnish cuisine in America. Also, rye flour is hard to find here in Oklahoma, so I can't make it myself. I have tried that egg butter (also called munavoi in Finnish) once when I made it myself. It was okay, I guess.

The "salt" on salmiakki or salty licorice is actually ammonium chloride and not sodium chloride like regular salt. I've tried it and think it's nasty. I don't like regular black licorice, either.

Since you tried the salmiakki ice cream I hope you got to try the tar (terva) ice cream. The tar is tree tar, a very old tradition and has a caramel texture and smokey flavour. It is used in many products from ice creams to shampoos.
