The 15 Most Powerful Sonic Villains' Ranked (IDW)

Ever since high school I enjoyed looking at power rankings for Marvel and DC characters with my friend Jordan. We would spend all study hall debating who was more powerful, based on official power scales and feats of strength from the comics. I thought that doing something akin to that for the Sonic IDW comics would be fun. I know a lot of people right now are into tier lists but I figured I'd just make power cards for the characters and try my best to determine where they would rank based on the IDW run. there is another detail i like to point out regarding Zavok his durability -he survived a crash within the Death Egg -after he lost his chaos emerald, his mega form, his zombot army & being taken out by Super Sonic he was still able to fight, it took all of Silver's concentration, just to hold him still -during the Bad Guys miniseries, an entire base collapsed on top of him, and he was still standing (and sure he was limping afterward) -during Zeti Hunt, he took a Wispon attack, like it was nothing i think he should have been #2 cause Metal still follows orders & as shown, Zavok easily takes control over the bot

Exactly. Plus, like Zavok said, with one single Chaos Emerald, he can control hundreds if not possibly thousands if he had two. No matter how strong they are, The Zeti can just easily use their EMP-based attacks to take control over them. It’s a close tie between Metal and Zavok

IDW!Zavok is an absolute beast, I love how he's incredibly strong but also smart. Not smart in the same way as Eggman or Starline, just in the sense that he's very cunning and manipulative.

I think the most scariest thing in the sonic series is the fact that sonic has most likly been holding back against most of these villains, I mean name one villain sonic has gone all out on to the point he wants to or nearly killed them?

Eggman is ruthless man. Adores his creations as their something his genius mind can create. An intelligent being who can outsmart others just with a wink of an eye. He has an entire empire that not even once completely taken down forever. A powerful villain whose goal will be completed no matter the cost no matter the time. It doesn't matter to him when his gonna win or what he will do to succeed. What truly matters is a taste of his enemies defeats

Sometime, in comics, we're going to meet Mimic again, but I want him to fight not against Tangle & Whisper this time, but against Sonic and his friends, because only Tangle, Whisper and Tails knows about Mimic. P.s. it would be interesting if Mimic attacked Whisper during the current arc. When she has neither Wisp nor Wispon, she is depressed and there is no one who could protect her. But unfortunately this will not happen anymore.

What also fascinates me about eggman is hes maybe evil but suprisingly never interrest in 1 villain-usual thing he even actually hates and even he thinks gets to far. (Destruction)

There are a few uniformed issues with the list. According to saga, the zeti’s light projection attacks (zazz, zommon and Zik able to create energy orbs, zeena being able to create a energy tether to control movement like a puppet, and Zors light clones) are all not natural. They require a energy boost to even work, such as the planets life energy in lost world and the chaos emeralds in the metal virus arc. Normally the only abilities they have is the ability to electromagnetically control nearly any machine. The only ones with extra abilities that aren’t physical combat are Zik and zavok. Zik having the ability to levitate wooden and metal object (which is actually a extension of his electromagnetic powers he has mastered with age) and zavok being able to spit fire and grow larger (though that might also be a extension of requiring a type of boost). Not that your placements were bad, but I just thought you needed to be informed of these facts.

What is your problem with Zavok? Why do you underestimate it? Why don't you admit him? Zavok proved to us in IDW that he is the most dangerous enemy that appeared in Sonic's world. He has the ability to control machines and has super physical strength, and he is more serious than Eggman, so why is this underestimating Zavok? Why do you continue to hate him?

No quiero ser Mr hater pero bueno la razón porque zavok y los demás zetis no están arriba es que ellos son peores en idw leí los cómics dónde ellos aparecen y no me parecen tan interesantes como digamos osea su propósito es traicionar y destruir y ya nada eso es lo que quieren en vez de sacar provecho a ellos porque son así o algo de su origen pero no hay que ponerlos a ellos como los malo malosos pero en el tema de zavok que es alguien interesante pues ni lo logra ya que tuvo demaciados oportunidades y no lo aprovecha ni logra hacerlo ya que este personaje solo es un bruto maton con esteroides es mas lo que dice que Sonic se va a arrepentir de todo al final no pasa en los cómics actuales

Surge should higher especially over dr starline. Without the energy core or his hypno glove, starline is possibly the weakest character on this list. Even if you bring up the argument that surge needed help defeating starline she was still able to brush past the effects of the hypno glove before making starline go unconscious.

His tricore made him pretty powerful, not to mention surge had to build up a resistance to his glove over time since it knocked her out a lot. But there is an argument to be made here 😄

I feel like we could probably rank Surge at or near the top of this list when she has the Dynamo Cage, with the Dynamo Cage she has more raw power than anyone in these comics short of Metal Overlord and her ability to drain energy and even copy energy based powers gives her a huge advantage over a lot of the other top tier villains, suddenly Starlines power core is not only out of power but its supercharging Surge, or the Zeti realize that their Chaos Emeralds limitless energy just gave Surge a much needed recharge. not to mention those Wisp powers Surge absorbed give her some crazy strong abilities that let her toss around Metal Sonic like a ragdoll and keep Sonic on his back foot.

The list was pretty good, but I would change one thing. I would put metal sonic above Eggman. Eggman might have built metal sonic, but metal sonic can do everything Eggman can do, but more. In the beginning of the story, metal sonic was able to act as a replacement for Eggman while he was mr tinker, and even took over angel island and has a super form. In sonic heroes he even overthrew Eggman and Eggman told everyone the only way to defeat him was if team sonic, team dark, team rose, and team chaotix worked together, AS WELL as having the chaos emeralds. Metal sonic is more powerful then eggman, he just isn’t able to directly prove it because he has to work for him

I feel like Surge should’ve been ranked at least number 3 due to how ridiculously powerful she became with that Dynamo Cage. She was hardcore powerful that nobody left a single scratch on her. Luckily it was a prototype that caused it to overload just when she nearly took Sonic’s life.

Bruh if we are talking about threat level and not strength eggman would be on the top list since most conflicts are caused by him, he caused chaos to flood and destroy station square, he also caused the ark to blow half the moon, and not for him teaming up with sonic he would of blown up the earth not that would stop since he succeeded in splitting up the planet in multiple pieces just to release dark Gia, and that's not the end of it he also one of the reason metal overlord to be a thing sure metal sonic was leading everything but if eggman never created metal sonic that would never happen, I could go on and on but it's too much, HOW THE FUCK IS THIS GUY NOT IN A #1 MOST WANTED LIST?!

Metal Sonic should objectively be #1 while Zavok and the other Zeti shouldn't rank anywhere near the top or middle and should stay on the bottom like the failures and weaklings they are.
