I'd be interested to see a really old bike tested like this to see how they compare to the new cheapo Chinese made budget bikes. I'm guessing the old US/UK/EU made steel framed bikes would hold up pretty well, but with no suspension you'd probably die testing them. Also that was awesome of you to give the bike away at the end instead of trying to get a refund like most do. Nice one!

Honestly you'd be better of buying a used 150 dollar hardtail that has maybe a bit outdated, but proven technology and better build quality. I got a vintage Giant AXT970 that I bought used for 150 bucks for some old school fun, and it's miles better than any of the super cheap chinese junk they put out these days.

I have one of these bikes. It’s fun as long as you can try to not constantly bottom out the shocks, never rely on the brakes, tighten every screw every few minutes, and make sure not to shift past 5th so the chain doesn’t pop and grind and fly off.

If the chain pop of you need to adjust the derailleur which you 9/10 need to do if the bike didn't came from a bike shop
