Kei cars are a unique aspect of automotive culture specific to Japan. Restricted by physical size, engine displacement and speed, they often look like scaled down versions of other regular size cars. With the Sakura, Nissan has brought electrification technology to the segment and I recently had the opportunity to try one out! With a very small battery pack, not a lot of power, and merely sufficient range, the Sakura is still affordable and quite impressive in many ways. My brother got this in Pakistan and he is getting 130 km range in single charge in city with A/C on which is phenomenal because you can't drive more than 100kms in a single day and it is completely charged overnight on 220v

I absolutely love Japan and their car scene culture, these little things, especially in like a turbo manual config are so super fun and just enough for their roads! I need a cabin with a garage in Japan to have my own place for a vacation every year in my own way :D

Growing up on a tiny Caribbean island with Japanese vehicles, seeing Kei cars my first time in Japan kei cars seemed normal to me. This makes a whole lot of sense if you live in any Japanese city.

it has more torque than them 90s integra type-r's. for a kei car, this thing is a muscle car. a lot of people love the fiat 500e and the smart ev. This fits into those categories but with 4 seats. if nissan can make it safe enough for the rest of the world, im sure there is a market for cheap and small usable 4 seaters. maybe not a big market, but there is a market.

Not a lot of kilos why Nissan? How comes the Chinese continue to make cars about the same size or bigger with larger batteries for extended range for cheaper than the Japanese? 🤔

You are crazy. We China don't have many of this mini size cars. China is like USA. People like big very big cars. And the few mini ones twe China do have as have similar battery size as this Nissan.
