why they use hand and foot pads? The JKA Shotokan does not use them in their kumite. I think that using pads will make karate deteriorate. because by sparring bare knuckles you are simulating street fight condition. using foot pad may be good because in a real street fight opponents will not remove their shoes but fight with it. It is the hands that should not have pads.
