Loving it LL, this story reminds me of your 1.8t Mk2 aka once traction hits you make up the lost time. Great progress ...you are inspiring a rebirth of Mk2 GTIs in CPT...everyone wants one now, even me😊

It's those core memories that mark us. My dad had a Jetta while I was growing up and I think it's made me a Mk2 guy.

Thanks for the content LL, I always enjoy it. I love the “Potte”. One question though, is t the Potte too close to the radiator??
@lowdl9 ай бұрын
It is at the moment but we will be moving it soon. It's mounted in the stock location for a 8v engine for now.

Fittings and lines is from Flat4 and the regulator is from Fury.

Good to see things coming together. What ecu you plan on using?
@lowdl9 ай бұрын
I've got a standard dicky for it now. It works for what I need it to do right now. I might go Ecu Master on it later on because I'm comfortable with it.

Build looks good i just want to know seeing that ram tubes so close to that shroud wont that affect you performance on those two cylinders sucking in all that heat from the radiator and wont shorter tubes be a better option with a with some duct leading to a bonnet cutout i know that does not sound appealing and it wont be for most. That looks like it might hurt those two cylinders alot i dont know much about N/A but i do know that cold air and better airflow improves performance in any car.
@lowdl9 ай бұрын
It's going to be fine. It's not ideal but it won't be a problem. I've run my previous setup like this and it was okay. Uninterrupted airflow is ideal but it requires a lot more money. Lol. A bonnet cut out in that location works the opposite way. It actually doesn't really suck air in because under the bonnet the air pressure is higher than above. So that's a good place to put a vent and not a duct. I could do some sort of duct from the front and face it towards those two itbs but honestly they will get enough air on its own and shorter ram tubes won't really help. The current setup isn't final either, there will be way more space for the itbs and the filters I'm going to run once it's done.

@@lowdl Remove the front engine mount and fit one at the back then lower the radiator.
@lowdl9 ай бұрын
@@VWPirates Lol. What? There's already a rear engine mount in the Mk2. So I'd have two rear mounts...? That front mount doesn't need to be removed to lower the radiator. There's space for it because there was a AC radiator in front of it before. It just needs new mounting holes and brackets for it to be secure.

It's not a KR head. I think it's a 9a head (051) with a 2e bottom end.
