True car guys respect all cars. They may not like some of them personally but they respect them. All you people being rude to each other in these comments really need to step back and realize that life is all about perspective. Especially when it comes to something as personal as what cars you like. Showing such disrespect to anybody's preferred car is something that a teenager may do, not grown men that claim to be car enthusiasts. EDIT: Well except maybe a prius... that seems like fair game. (kidding, kidding)

But I think most of us can agree that we hate ricers. No, not just civics. I mean ANY car with ridiculous cosmetic modifications that degrade a car style-wise or performance-wise and the driver bragging about it as if it were a race car. If he mods it to his/her taste, fine, but don't go around glorifying it.

Speaking of that, that is how you can tell the difference between a Plymouth Superbird and a Charger Daytona. The Daytona spoiler is more straight up, while the Superbird has a sweepback to the side fins. The Daytona spoiler is mounted at the very rear of the car, while the Superbird, the fins are mounted somewhat further forward. I love them both! There's a guy here where I live that gets a white 70 Bird out a couple times a year and cruises the local boulevard. Last time I saw it, it had 51,000 miles on it. Last year.

Coefficient of drag isn't something hard to enhance. The aerodynamic shape with the best coefficient of drag is already known. What's hard to design is a car that has a good coefficient of drag and also have down-force enough to create traction and to be fast on corners.

Though this is not the worst thing he's said in his 15 years of entertaining, Its just probably one of the more cringiest things he's said lol. Love the cat.. But about the drag coefficient. I believe a beetle is at about a .34 which sound pretty much like the Ferrari. Less drag coefficient can equal less downforce, and even with the cartoonist wing (which I love) you can see why the coefficient is low and that i bet the downforce pushing on the wheels is less than expected. Although at that weight, worries may not be long lasting at low g's

Ryan Norton He's comparing the air drag of the car. Less drag = more fuel efficient. And the fact that the car came from an era when no one gave 2 shits about fuel economy it's very cool this car is a slippery through the air as a fish. Meaning it can go like the stink!!! :D
@ryann524710 жыл бұрын
im pretty sure i know what drag coefficient is. Thats kind of my most of my job. Well that and other fluid mechanics and flight mechanics (i dont really do the strength of materials part). So dont call me retarded. The prius is a mom's car that has no business being mentioned around such a hardcore muscle car / unstoppable nascar warrior, regardless of its "super drag coefficent." I could mention the GTR's drag coefficent of .26Cd, but no one wants to hear about nissans from the present time on a video about classic muscle.

8-speeds have already been in use for a while in cars like the Charger, as well as a lot of the German full-sizes. The unit they're using is an intelligent and fast-shifting box. The large number of gears means you can have a stump-pullin' first and an intercontinental overdrive, while the spaces between ratios stays reasonable. When you ask for power, it goes directly to the proper gear without doing 5 shifts in between. Ford and Chevy are collaborating to make their own 8-speed now.

@rustlerboi1052 I can, and did, say the drag coefficient is better on this car. I don't think you understand that drag coefficient and downforce aren't the same thing. I never said anything about downforce, intentionally. The car may not have as much downforce as a Ferrari, but it's much, much slipperier. And the front air dam and rear wing do provide a functional amount of downforce, otherwise they wouldn't be there at all. It would be even more aerodynamic without them.

There's an all original/numbers matching super Bird in my cousins barn that's going to be SO sick when he finishes it (his Satellite -yes a SATELLITE- is already a local auto-cross legend and he spanked several self described "skilled drivers" in Porsche's his first time out in it ten years ago). The coefficient of drag is a bit of a red herring here. It's a measurement based on a calculation and is relative to frontal area but doesn't include it. The total drag does and that's the one that counts. This having a 0.28 is great but the car is enormous so it's 0.28 of a huge frontal area. It's also easier to get a better cd on a larger car as there is more free surface area to massage into shape.
