The 1932 Ford Changed Automotive History Forever... And I Got To Drive One! | Worldwide Auctioneers

Worldwide Auctioneers invited me to their Scottsdale, AZ auction to do some coverage for them. To my surprise, they actually let me DRIVE one of my dream cars on the road!
Today, I take you on a tour of some of my favorite cars that were offered at the January Worldwide Auctioneers auction. Some of these cars are like priceless works of art; they come out of hiding to be sold, and then they are stashed in private collections and not seen again for decades. As such, they are hardly ever seen on KZbin! I take a look at a coach-built Chrysler, a Duesenberg Model J, a Delahaye, and a supercharged Cord!
After the tour, the friendly folks at Worldwide let me take a 1932 Ford Roadster out on the road! This was the first year that ford offered it's legendary flathead V8, and they are exceptionally rare. Not only do I get to drive it, but they sent a film crew with me, so it's high-quality stuff. Don't miss this!
After the amazing drive, I take a look at a few more interesting cars like a Lamborghini Diablo, a Lamborghini Jalpa, and a Chevrolet El Morocco!

@@ElliottAlvis now we just get in and drive but back in the day having to manually adjust everything from timing, fuel air mix etc you had to connect with car before the road even a process to manually crank a car I am a guy who is in ore of the past proper inventors, history makers. I was at an event a couple of years back not cars but old machines that carved a way for what we know now and surprisingly most people at the event were looking at new machines I was looking at draglines not the new excavators like 70% of the customers. Now one guy one machine years ago there was a fellow for every stick (took 3 people to operate one machine! ) thank you for the tour must appreciated for myself👍👍 and thank you again for time👍

VERY well done, Elliott! We are proud of you! The 32 had quite a few other changes from the 31, as you know. Beefier frame, slightly smaller wheels but bigger rubber, fuel tank in the rear, thus fuel pump on motor, bigger headlights, 3-spoke steering wheel, gauges in dash, etc. It is like SO close to being a "real car" that it makes our Model A's look more like horseless carriages

The really cool thing about the 32 ford V8, was that it had many of the the features of higher end car at a price ordinary working people could afford!

Duesenbergs are ridiculous, 94mph in second gear, 100+ mph even with the naturally aspirated ones, 130+ with the supercharged ones, at a time when the typical family car would struggle to get up to 60mph, maybe 65 downhill with a tailwind. And that Cord was originally developed as an entry-level baby Duesenberg, before E.L. Cord, the head of Duesenberg's parent company, decided to shift it to his namesake brand instead, August Duesenberg was involved in its development

My dad's first car was a 38 Lincoln Zephyr. Last year for mechanical brakes. When you stomped on the brakes on a wet street, you never knew which way you were going to go.

Car manufacturers really need to do more throwbacks. I know the Prowler was a shot, but come on the sweeping lines, the chrome. Sure they would probably crumbled in a wreck, but at least we have modern safety equipment that could help.

I had the last year for the flathead V8, a 53 F-100. It was a fun truck to drive in the winter, the 'high output' heater would defog about an inch of the windshield

Elliott the 1932 Ford frame follows the body lines, while the Model A had a straight rectangular frame. That is why Hot Rod guys always install a 32 frame on there Model A.

I enjoy the variety of your videos . I followed you after you did a review of a Prius. That video was humorous and actually made a Prius interesting . Just to keep in mind, maybe others might feel the same. I like when you cover cars that the average guy can afford. Most of us can’t afford Lambos and Lamborghinis. Those vids are fun too, but the regular cars can be interesting with the knowledge you impart. I remember Hoovie doing a vid about a supercharged Park Avenue . Cars that the regular guy can afford are good vids as well. I enjoy the humor in your vids and the extensive knowledge you have

The whole point of the 57 Chevrolet model year was they used Cadillac styling cues on their consumer model, I guess Ford had gotten a leg up on them sales wise and that was their (successful) attempt to claw their way back up to number #1 .. Ford had the name, Chevy had the marketing and Chrysler had the engineers

The 1932 Ford was not a Model A ; different & stronger chassis, bigger brake drums & syncro on 2nd&top plus just about everything else. The transverse springing lasted to 1948, hardly outmoded in '32. Steering was Gemmer design, very good & used by more expensive cars. Shocks were self adjusting & top quality for an affordable car. For the roads of the era, it made the Ford 'go anywhere'. The '32 V8 was 65hp & was improved for '33 to 85hp. The '32 ford is now part of folk history & objective reviews are rare..

you missed a good opportunity there, who are you calling a Fibroni Jabroni?! lol also the Cord is or was supposed to be a baby auburn, like it went duesenberg, auburn and cord, they were trying to make their own form of GM without the suck back then put it proved troublesome with how advanced that car was also transverse leaf springs on that ford model A with a V8 oh so its just like a 1953 to 2006 chevy Corvette there, where they cheapened the suspension and put that in for the front on the C4 instead of the proper shocks the C3 had, hence why they ride so terrible and cant absorb bumps or even keep up with anything vaguely european lol save for the ZR1 that was made and developed by Lotus that is, but that was too expensive and the viper kicked their teeth in by making a better lower cost product that as long as you know to turn in slow and dont over compensate and go easy with the loud pedal, you can actually drive it fairly regularlly as they were a little undersensitive given the dodge durango suspension gear they had but hey that's mopar for ya, as long as your not an idiot they last, and you gotta love how every single restomod of a vette has the first thing switched is the leaf springs to coil overs, almost like that should have been standard for years and years and years and hence why your C4 sits as much as it does, as it doesnt matter how good the engine is if the chassis is crap, and you should really look into changing that
