The Creg without a pub, the cocoa tent, the lightweight mass start during the Senior race, absolutely massive crowds, dawn practices, the legend Geoff Duke, and so much more. For us TT fans this is the best historic video ever!

Dall'Italia ❤❤❤❤❤

I'm lucky enough to have been there a few times in the past decade or so. It's always fascinating to see it how it was back then, and the little things that remain the same even after so many years. I've ridden the circuit on a few motorcycles, driven it in a transit and pedalled a full suspension mountain bike around it, the latter illustrated how extremely steep it is up to the mountain! This is a cracking bit of film, a window into yesteryear.

I had forgotten that the senior was a 7 lap race, quite a test of that era's machinery. Wonder how many modern motorcyclists would understand what a doubleknocker was. Great film, thanks.

No mention anywhere of the three English riders that died this year. They were John Makaula - White, Thomas A. Westfield & Alfred Bent. I guess they were not very well known, but incidentally John’s father was a Zulu, I guess the clue is in his surname.

Cocoa tent - no seven sorts of milk, vegan, organic - take it or leave it, no choice fatigue, better, and simpler for it, and grateful for what you got.

Best studded tyres, Castrol R and the blat of racing singles, a unique era! Actually, I've been a biker since I was 19 in the 70s, and have never been to the TT! I went to the classic TT once for the day, from memory that was 2000 or 2001, my impression wasn't very favourable because it was absolutely lashing down with rain and bl00dy cold!!! So the racing was well off pace and the atmos was just miserable. I suppose I should make the effort at least once, most people I've spoken to say it's an incredible spectacle. Thing is, after going to 24 hour endurance races many times in France and Spa, I doubt it can match that for experience.
