Sophisticated . I seen them live thanks to my previous partner (ex), Oakland fox theater December 17 2015 feels like forever now. I was 16 soon to be 17 and my gf at the time just turned 19. Frick do I miss those days. The days felt like seasons. People were nicer everything was bliss. Enjoy you’re youth people enjoy what you can never get back. Time and time again we’ll all feel the same. Old. This band is dear too me kinda like sharing and not caring. It’s special because it was real until it wasn’t. Memories are like that. Don’t forget what’s dear to you. Make them feel important. Be patient kind and loving. Forgive don’t forget.

Yep. When I first saw them in 2009 and 10 (when the band was called the Big Sleep and Drive Like I do, and they were babies). They were the support act for another band. They looked so pissed off and beat down that no one was listening to them and talking through their whole act. I spoke to Matty afterwards and we chatted for ages - such a nice dude. Since then they’ve rocketed as The 1975 and they reached, and passed through, their rockstar phase. I’m loving this phase. They’ve literally been the soundtrack of my life for the past 13 years and I love how their sound has changed.

Let's be honest, after all the singles we heard, we can surely say that "Being Funny In A Foreign Language" is probably their best work.
@LRM51952 жыл бұрын
It’s going to be all killer no filler for sure. I think the only complaint is that some songs are very reminiscent of past work which is okay for me, but it’s not exciting in the sense of getting something that sounds creatively new, you know, kind of like…Huey Lewis & The News.

i don't know, because their past work is rather great. from what i've been hearing i feel this is going to resonate a lot more with classic rock/folk fans rather than mainstream pop. i think they're absolutely killing it. (yes i'm a classic rock fan and i pretty much loathe mainstream pop)
@chefcuhdon332 жыл бұрын
@@akahige8967 I hear little folk and more jazz… also the lack of pop doesn’t remind me of their older music like others have said. I think this is a 1975 I never knew I needed to hear. Elegant and groovy tracks but also happy sad ballads like this one. I will say I really miss the darker pop synth 1975 from their first album.
