My interpretation: a guy meets the perfect girl, and falls madly in love with her. he soon finds out she's not perfect, and she has a dark side "your balaclava is starting to chafe" represented by the mask she wears to hide her ugly side. "And when she gets his gun" represents her starting to pull out the ugly in him, and he tries to fight her but he is so invested and in love. "We'll give it one more time..one more fight" represents him trying to keep the relationship despite the struggles it's causing. (Next half below)

"Now everybody's dead" he metaphorically killed everyone who told him to leave her, "we're driving past my old school" represents leaving innocence, "you've got your gun... Suit on..You look so cool" represents him succumbing to his dark side with her.

If you've seen the movie "TRUE ROMANCE" About two young lovers who enter a life of crime and become "Robbers" you'll understand the similarities, I believe Matty even stated in an interview he wrote it about the movie, The lyric "you look so cool" is a phrase used countless times in True Romance. Although I agree with the whole "Your balaclava is starting to chafe" and "If you just take off your mask you'll find out everything's going wrong". And in their new song Change of heart, they reference this song by saying "You used to have a face straight out a magazine"
