Two years ago I was walking on Foothill blvd with my dog in Sunland, Ca. As I was walking a black Ford GT passed me the opposite way. I was so shocked and mesmerized to see that car and I saw it turn into the Shell gas station on the corner of Ora Vista and Foothill Blvd. Which btw if you take Ora Vista all the way down it will lead you into the Angeles Crest Forest canyon which a lot of car reviewers use like Matt Farah. Anyway as I walked back towards the Shell and I was approaching the Ford GT to stare at it lo and behold the driver was Jay Leno. He was super cool and talked to me about the car and even took a picture together with my dog which he was absolutely astonished how large he is because he’s a 120lb Bandog. After that I would see him almost every Sunday going into the Canyon with that Ford GT and he would always honk and wave at my dog and I when he passed us on Ora Vista.

When this first came out, everyone complained about it not having a nice sounding V8. I saw one of these randomly drive by once and the guy floored it - it sounded like a loud supercar. It's not a high revving exotic sound but it's good enough, and it looks really great in person. Seeing it at a car show, it was shocking to see how many gaps the car has. From behind, it feels like the middle part is a foot wide and you can see right through it. It definitely stands out.

The wing doesn't drop because it's a safety feature. Ford doesn't want your fingers to get chopped off if you have them under the wing. It will drop when you go up to 15-20 MPH.

No, the wing isnt down because if its parked for too long it will tilt forwards and evently rest on the body causing damage.

Memories of being a little kid into race cars both real slot cars back when the original Ford GT came out. I think back then to race in it class there had to be X number of production street versions sold. So a couple times I remember seeing a original Ford GT. So the Ford GT has a lot of meaning for me.

10:31 Ford lets very few techs work on these things. I worked at a ford dealership in high school and there was only one person who ever worked on them. I later heard that he was one of only two people in our state that was certified to do so, and I can confirm, he also serviced fiestas

I loved seeing the GT in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech Series at Lime Rock Park. The brutish and beefier sounding big V8 C7R Corvettes were left vanquished by this mighty TT V6 beast! Kicked the Corvette's asses 2 weeks later at Road America, too. The engine is a race proven power plant with 6 years of IMSA Prototype racing behind it. Photos and movies of it don't do it any justice. It must be seen in person, and I promise your jaw will drop to the ground at first sight! Absolutely stunning from any angle.

The whole point of the Ford GT is that it gives confidence, it's built to perform like razor sharp edge to the point where any normal driver can get in and drive it like a pro, that's how well they built it, that's why it's so easy to drive, it's made to be comfortable to get the best out of it possible, to me that's a huge achievement that many supercars tend to fail at, sure their raw scary crazy ability makes them more badass in that sense, but when you wanna drive it cleanly it takes a lot more effort than the Ford GT and to a pro driver that isn't what they want at all when trying to get fast and good laps.

Anyway, great video as always guys! Oh, I almost forgot - PLEASE ship my car back to me when you're done! I miss my Ford GT-H! *EDIT* Dang - only 50 miles and you're flooring it like that???? I don't even do that with just my non-super cars like my Durango SRT, etc. Even the new Vette C8 will NOT allow you to go over 5k RPMs till after 500 miles - it's in the computer system so even if you try it won't allow you so the engine gets a full PROPER break-in. I would be mad if this was my car!
