Let me start by saying I’m 6’1 and weigh 300lbs and this car is a dream. I own a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with a 6.6 engine and I recently purchased a 2008 Honda Fit Sport 5 speed with 118k miles as my commute vehicle. The car still runs and drives excellent at 14 years old. The car is perfect to drive and gets more than double the gas mileage of my truck. The 25 mile round trip to work everyday makes my pockets smile now. I literally go two weeks on a tank of gas. Where a full tank of gas in my Silverado would cost me $120 to fill up (36 gallons) my fit will only cost me $33 on this 10 gallon tank. By the way I got it used from a private seller for $2,500. Honda nailed it with this little giant.

being 6’3” i can agree the fit has insane amounts of room for how tall i am and even getting in and out it isn’t hard or anything

Yup. 6'7/315 here and I've daily driven my '08 5M Fit for over a decade. Could not be happier with it. For what it's worth, try running premium fuel in it. It's worth a few extra HP & TQ. Not a giant difference, but noticable!

Still have our 2007 manual Fit and still love it. I’m 6’4” and I fit. Everything fits in the Fit and the Fit fits everywhere. We recently bought an Outback and it’s roomier and more comfortable on those long drives, but the the simplicity of the Fit is more relaxing than the frustrating touchscreen and constant beeping of the Outback. The Fit is a great car and under-appreciated. Thanks for the review.

I own a 2008 Fit myself. I have plenty of headspace as a 6’ man but I honestly wish Honda gave the little jug just a tad few inches of legroom and it would be a dream.
@vickij84172 жыл бұрын
Definitely NOT under-appreciated! I LOVE this car and it's been 15+ years and still feels new even with almost 250k miles. I'm so bummed Honda discontinued it in the U.S. The Fit fits everything plus some. I'm not 6'4", so that may be a bit more challenging for comfort to sleep in it, but at 5' 6" I sleep so comfortably in it and have camped in it with others who are taller, not quite 6'4". :) Plus - parking is easy. It just fits!

I first looked at the Fit in 2007, and finally bought one in 2019. Such a great car, and they kept doing it right even in the 3rd gen. (My clutch is softer, less notchy, but still nice.) Here's to another decade on the road! Edit to add Yes, it just "Fits!"

I'm still driving the 5-speed manual shift grey Honda Fit sport that I bought in April 2007--the same car featured in this video. Best car I ever owned. No mechanical problems at all until the air conditioner failed in spring 2023. I ordered a 2024 Chevy Trax, waited four months for it to arrive, and finally cancelled the order. I don't want to pay $2000 to replace the air conditioner in my Fit, so, at some point, I'll get a new car, but not just yet.

Jumping from 2005 Toyota 4runner V6 was quite a drastic change. Yes, I can't go anywhere, but as I do 95% of my mileage on asphalt, I'm having so much fun in my 2007 1.2 iDSI manual Jazz on winding roads and some easy touges with friends, most importantly for 1/3 price on fuel, nothing on maintenance compared with my ex Toyota 4wd. My only wish would be this 1.5 vtec engine from Fit for a bit of extra juice. Just put some lowering springs, or coilovers, 15" wheels with 195 tires, oem sport bodykit and you're no longer in a grandmothers car which handle corners pretty amazing. Greetings from Northern Europe, Vilnius.

My family picked up a 2007 fit sport back in 2012. It had 37k miles on it when we got it and currently has 430k miles. It still has the original engine, trans, and clutch. Original alternator went out around 420k miles lol. The interior has held up really well with no rips or tears in the seats. Only a few sections of the interior are worn. We haven't had to replace much on it either. It has new shocks but still rides really good despite having over 400k miles on it. EPS is just now going out.

I really like honda jazz when i was young because of it's appearance and now i would want to buy them in the future but I'm hesitating since the ground clearance and I'm thinking about floods getting worse every year because of climate change. Good Review - I'm leaning towards a used Yaris, but reviews like this are starting to shift me towards a Fit. Need a reliable decent MPG car, I've owned mostly Toyotas, but I'm liking this fit, problem is, everything is expensive right now with the Fits running at least $1k more than the Yaris. But I do have my eye on a Fit that I'll check out. Thanks
@BernonCars2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The Fit is definitely more fun to drive than a Yaris, that’s one thing

Very late reply, but I bet you found why the Fit costs more. I drove a Yaris once and it was fine. I was keenly aware what a small thin car it was. The Fit is also small, but it feels more...confident, somehow.

@BernonCars Thank you for your response! Ultimately, I'm going to have to track down 2 manual Fits to test drive, but I'm also leaning more towards the 2nd gen. I really like the look of the 1st gen, but the tilt-only wheel may prove to be a problem.

I experienced a Swift 20 years ago, and it's the most flimsy car I ever saw. We'd push it up a snowy driveway and left handprints in the rear hatch. (You could count the fingers!) Find out what code is stored when that light comes on. Some auto parts stores let you borrow an OBD-II reader, or you can buy a basic one for not a lot of money. The code won't diagnose the problem, but you'll know where to start looking and might learn of something that you can fix before it gets expensive.
