This was an exciting day! Although you saw our set up in the previous video, in this one you will see us getting some of it set up. This Mustang came in with a complaint of an ABS light, possible draw, and a window issue. We will work through the issues and find the root cause of each. We hope this helps. Enjoy!

Thanks for letting my Mustang be the first in your new bay and studio. Thanks for all your help with fixing my old pony. I'm really hoping I get to see some of the repairs too. My family will be very surprised to see this when I share it. I really do appreciate all that you do with your shop and employees.👍

I love seeing the young boy watching you work. He's fascinated. I especially liked when you were rolling the cart across the parking lot and a set of magnifier glasses fell off and he instantly picked it up and put it on his head. What a great example of hard work and smart work and service to others he is getting!

As seen on South Main Auto KZbin, You should probe on backside of connector when possible to avoid possible pin connection to module problems later. Known as back probing. Eric on South main auto has wonderful diagnostic videos easy to follow and he breaks it down to easiest areas to eliminate. Worth a good start at diagnostic problems and tips and tricks to get started on your new shop area. And as he says never trust your wire diagrams or tools, they can lie to you, have backup wire diagrams from different sources and backup diagnostic tools, and sometime plain ole visual tracing wires manually. Redrawn diagrams and color codes may not match, but old school tracing can get you back on track. Like your videos also, very informative and enjoyable. Thanks.

When you were testing fuse 35 and it came up with nothing, I was yelling at the screen to push the brake pedal because I had seen on the diagram how fuse 35 was powered. I figured you would notice this at some point. I'm glad to see you using Joe's load it Jr. box. I just received mine the other day. He makes great tools. I would like to see you use some of his other tools like the PWM box and variable voltage box.

It's likely that the fix for your car will be different than the one in this video. Also, Ford products are a lot more complicated then most other brands. You may want to get the workshop manual for your vehicle and the wiring diagrams if they're separate. That said, their diagnostic support is pretty good. If you have the manual you can look up problems by DTC's or symptom. They give you step by step instructions on exactly what you need to do to figure out what's wrong. You don't have to be a high level tech. As long as you follow the steps, you'll figure it out.
@052RC
@052RC 16 күн бұрын
I almost forgot some info you may find useful. When you scan for codes, they'll start with a P, B, C or a U. U dtc's are communication codes. You don't diag off of U codes. I'm telling you this because this video is about a communications fault. You would think those are the codes you have to look at. You don't. You start with the first 3, in that order. Powertrain, body and chassis. There are some cases where you have to diag U codes, but its rare.

When you checked grounds in the connector you had the negative lead of the multimeter connected to battery negative instead of the ground lead side of the light box. So you really weren’t measuring the quality of the ground with the multimeter measurement. The intensity of the lights would have indicated a bad ground, but not the meter reading since it was just reading the voltage across the battery terminals each time. I think that was just an oversight but just wanted to point that out for those watching

Those ABS modules can be complex to bleed. Fortunately, you can drive without them in those old Fords. When mine goes out, I'll just ignore it. I hope you can find an ABS unit that works. I think they have replaceable parts inside, so some can be rebuilt it you can get the correct parts. They are quite complex, so it is fortunate that you can ignore them failing in some states.

He may not have a choice. Ford discontinues parts support for their vehicles after 10 years. This one is double that. What's even worse is they keep track of what's available in the aftermarket. If there's poor aftermarket support for certain items, they take any new stock they have left and jack the price up. In the last couple of years I had 3 or 4 customers with Escapes abandon the vehicles because of the price on a new abs pump/module. They usually go for around $1000. Ford knows they can't be found in any non oem brand, so they raised the price up to $6000 just for the part. Next time you see Ford's CEO on the news complaining about the dealers, and want to get rid of them, think of this example. Every dealership is owned by a different person, and they just don't have that kind of leverage where they can go on TV any time they want.
