Bubbles is a class man,my eldest daughter was stone mad about him when she was in her mid teens,was playing for Tipp camogie,hurling was ( still is ) her life. Our local publican is good friends with the O Dwyers and organized for Bubbles to meet my daughter one evening,she got a bit teary when she met him but he was so so good and kind to her,he told her he knew she was full back ( tipped off by our friend) & that she was good enough for Tipp …. But that she’d have to keep practicing… he was so so nice to her. On the down side…I’ll send him a bill to re plaster the gable wall.

Great interview lads. Bubbles was always my favourite hurler on that Tipp team. Won us the game against Galway in 16 and unreal in 19..

That's the problem with the GAA. You have great characters like Bubbles that nobody knows about because it's all training and zero craic. Good to see this side of him seems like a good guy
