Thanks to this video and respect for your advice and opinions, I just ordered 'LA Woman' and the Doors debut album from Analogue Productions. I can barely wait to hear them! A seller on Discogs said that The Door's debut from AP is only being sold now on 180gr vinyl rather than the 200gr. I wonder if there is a difference in quality? I didn't want to risk it, so I found a different seller and got the 200gr version. Thank you so much for all your advice. It's protecting us from buying those well-hidden "stinkers" out there on vinyl.😊

Sadly, after I watched this many of the jazz titles you mentioned are back ordered. Hopefully, they come back in stock. One album not on your list but which you included on your top 20 Jazz list last year is Bill Evans at Montreaux. That’s a fantastic sounding record.

Once I saw the title, I knew this was going to be a great video. The only recommendation I am not entirely with is Pet Sounds. I had the 2016 180 gram vinyl edition and thought the mastering was not great. Maybe the one presently available is better? That said, I received my copy of Bill Evans at the Montreux Jazz Festival on 45. 😮Simply stunning! Jack DeJohnette is captured in a way I had not heard before. Very glad you recommended it!

Forgive me for commenting on a previous video, namely the half speed masters subject. I can’t help thinking that it is a marketing ploy rather than an honest attempt to provide better sounding records. Cynical exportation in my opinion.

Yes, your videos in particular, alongside other creators mostly called Michael were a great jump start for my audiophile record collection.

Thank you very much for the tips! I feel like one of the previous speakers .... watching the channel run the risk of going bankrupt ;-) .... thank you very much for your choice! I would like to make a 'small' suggestion ... the discussion often revolves around new editions of historically brilliant recordings. If possible, I would really appreciate getting to know new recordings ... think of The Acid: Liminal, Ry X: Dawn; Fink: hard believer; Kari Bremnes and much more ... or do you also offer a discussion forum on FB or Instagram? Thanks and best regards! Michael

that's because most, or all of it, are digital transfers. Get a good streamer and DAC for those

Is this counting down from 20 in order of your favorites? Also, if you have both how does the MOFI Lynyrd Skynyrd compare to the AP version?

Been a fan of audiophile pressings for a while now. And find funny that the Elvis Presley records from Analogue Productions is not mentioned? In my ears all of them sounds fantastic. Enjoy your channel a lot, so keep up the good work!

Hi Michael, Hitari is one of my all time favorite soundtracks, I was unaware that was available. Karl and Fredrick probably love the African feel to the music. I do need to get Muddy Waters Folk Singer, just a must for any blues collection. Thanks for the heads up on these. Steve

The only title from the Analogue Productions label that I have among the ones you showed is "Time Out", which is absolutely fantastic. I also have The Doors' debut album, Miles Davis' "Seven Steps To Heaven" and Jeff Beck's "Blow By Blow". I'd love to get the 45 RPM version of Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters", but it's expensive.

Night Beat by Sam Cooke surely almost made it. It's an incredible sounding release. The only thing I don't like is it's 2xLP non gatefold

Great video Michael - I 've found that John Coltrane for a good price here in the UK so have ordered. Pushing beyond my usual world of rock and metal into jazz now

Love your vids. Did you pick up the John Coltrane one step by Craft Recordings that dropped this week? It sold out in only a few hours.

I grabbed one. I was just lucky to check out their site that day. The vinyl angels were watching over me. Can't wait to spin it! Could be the start of a great series since their parent company owns the Riverside label (think Bill Evans). I am hoping for a one step of Waltz for Debby and Sunday at the Village Vanguard!

@@DirkJensen I'm very curious about this release too. Could be interesting as I've heard that Craft has been spending billions on buying up rights to various titles recently. They could have some very cool upcoming releases especially in this 1 step format.
