The “logo” for the game is actually a logo for this circus pack thingy but it says “scream or die virtual circus” instead of circus pack and it has generic teeth on the clowns head, and to make it worse they don’t even use anything from the pack in the game. steam isn't the only one, the amount of bait shovelware on the switch is absolutely insane, whilst not as expensive, $30+aud ($20+usd) for a freaking solitaire mahjong or anime slide puzzle game is still absolutely disgusting (though it usually ends up around $3(aud) for the first 2 weeks, then like 3 weeks later they'll re-release the game.), and the titles don't even change, they just slap on a new edition in the title, make minor adjustments to the screenshots and call it a day. Not sure if these companies are still going, but when i was actively playing my switch, they released a new edition of their games (2 main companies) 1 every 3-4 weeks for at least 6 months (not sure if they're still going)

So, I got a brand new computer that can run spec heavy games, and I still have an idea for a Mascot Horror game. I just need to figure out how to use C# in Godot, how to 3D model a PS1 style creature, and tweak the FPS template controls to where it feels like how I would envision the movement be. Oh, and to figure out how the $@#! do I recreate the RE4 inventory, since that is part of the idea.

What a lot of these developers do is release a game for a few dollars, buy a few copies to get a very positive rating, then up the price to a something so high that nobody would purchase it on steam. Then they get steam keys to sell to resale sites for bundles like "very positive game guaranteed" mystery bundles. If someone gets it and plays it, they would probably leave a negative review, but reviews from steam keys don't change the percentage so as long as nobody buys the game for full price they keep the rating.

Nah from what I have heard the grift around these crappy $500 steam games is a gray market G2A thing. So how the scam works is as follows. On gray markets like G2A one of the things you can buy are "mystery steam key loot bundles" that have a wide price range depending on how many games you want. For example $20 to get 5 or so random steam games that are normally worth say $35 of total value based on their normal steam price point. While it may look and seem like you are getting a good deal. You can probably see where this is going. All the games you will get in these bundles will be crap I haven even seen people getting multiple copies of the same crap game in one bundle. G2A wins because they got your money and they technically didn't lie about the value of the games im the bundle.The devs of these games win because somehow they get a cut of the G2A sale. From what I've seen these bundles can cost upwards of $200+ for like 50+ games totaling roughly equal to $500 in value or even more for even bigger bundles that supposedly offer more value. That's how games like this come to be. They are nothing more than crappy products/prizes for shady G2A steam key loot boxes.
