I've been driving one of these since 2010...had to get the head gasket replaced last year at about 115k miles. If you want to buy one used I'd make sure that job has been done first or take the price of that service into your offer.

Thx for the great review. I have a friend that wants me to help him sell his 2007 he bought with a blown engine. He replaced it, which looks almost brand new. It's black with grey interior. Gold wheels with new tires. Has a little dent on drivers, and passengers rear door. Not that bad. 146k miles on the car, but have to get more info on the engine. Do you think 4 grand would be a fair price for it with automatic transmission? As long as it test drives good. He said it does, with no check engine lights. These cars were viral when they came out. Especially those WRX's. Yours looks great, but wow. Those back seats rule out long road trips for four tall people, lol.

I've been looking at this car for a while now, and I was wondering if it would be a good investment if I live in New England (the rust belt). I am willing to take good care of a car and keep it from the elements, but I would like to know if the car is more or less prone to corrosion anywhere specific
@kianscarsandtech Жыл бұрын
For sure! Subaru's in general tend to have issues with rust as do many other older cars. This car specifically has spent most it's life in Colorado and then more recently in California and their are a few rust spots/paint bubbling around the wheel arches. If you can find one in good condition without too much rust already there, then I would definitely still recommend this car if you are looking for something fun to drive and relatively cheap. Rust is inevitable for Subaru's (especially ones this old) but so long as it isn't a ton of rust on the actual frame of the car I wouldn't let it stop you from considering it as an option. The only other thing that is important to know when getting an older Subaru is that they tend to burn oil which is nothing to worry about and normal for Subaru's this old. I usually top my oil off every 2 weeks with just a little bit to keep it nice and full. I am by no means and expert but those are my observations just living with it for a few years. Hopefully this answers your question and let me know if you decide to get one! - Kian

@kianscarsandtech5 ай бұрын
@@LuciloGonzalez-g2t To be honest, A impreza will never be a good “investment”. Subarus can be expensive and require maintenance when they get to be this age. If he’s got some extra cash to burn and looking for a fun car to work on, then this is a great choice. But if he’s looking to make a safe investment to sell in a few years for a profit, a car in general is not the way to go.
