I just don't understand why they can't sell the separate fashions rather than just dolls. There is no play value to this collection anymore. Such a shame as Silkstone was originally created to relaunch Barbie's roots and the original 1959-62 range of Barbie fashions.

***** I had someone tell me that after speaking with Robert Best he admitted it was easier to produce the dolls rather than separate fashions which I think is such a shame and somehow reveals the corporate mind set of Mattel. Barbie's sales continue to slow year on year and I think part of the issue is they have moved so far away from the original concept. A doll and her fashions.

I wish they gave these Silkstone dolls some articulation, the fashions in this video is beautiful don't get me wrong, but if you compare those Silkstone dolls in early 2000 to this year, you kinda get disappointed, and if they add an articulation like what they did to One Modern Circle dolls, I think it would grab some attention to younger or newer doll collectors, and maybe boost the sale a little

Julius Maloney I agree I think these dolls are just Stunning!!! but like you I am a collector you likes to play and I do wish the would sell clothes for us collectors who like to play. I do feel as you that the collectors who like to play are being left out. That is the passion of Barbie collecting , you love the dolls but want more than just buying putting them on the stand and that is it you wan to play with them .

leaiplussize absolutely, and Barbie was always a fashion doll, I think an aspect of play that has been lost in recent years, even in the play line. I do feel that at least there Mattel is trying to address this gap. However I still feel that yes, beyond sticking Barbie's on a shelf (which has never really been my thing) there is little opportunity to take collecting beyond this limited view of what it is to collect Barbie doll without added fashions or accessories, Something that the Silkstone / Fashion Model line originally aspired to.

yes I agree with you. The dolls are beautiful but I wish the play would come back in, and make it even more fun. They are beautiful to look at but for me it was always about dressing them and have creative fun with them and expressing yourself with them I wish that would come back. I was always one who loved to play with my collectable dolls.

Yes! I miss the old Barbies even though I wasn't around in the 90's or under! I think that the newer Barbies are over the top and always come in the same kind of outfits : pink, short dresses with glitter and playsets where you can do Barbies hair and so on. I love the old Barbies because they look so beautiful and elegant! She looks like such a fashionista then and now she just looks horrible! In my opinion anyway. I'm much into Monster High right now and have over 100 dolls. I've been collecting them since 2011 when the first dolls came out. If only Barbie stayed the same I would of probably been collecting them!

I have the doll with the hat.. I was so disappointed with the quality of the doll I got. The left is smaller than the right. The neckline looks a little lopsided .. the bust is so loose and the piplum is so uneven...

phoebe De Monte Falcon so sad because the one I got was fine. Its a truly magnificent doll for 50$. You could try ironing the garments , that may help.

Beautiful doll but where accessories and jewelry ? Vintage fashion without the accessories don't happen . I prefer restraint in makeup and richness of toilets. New trends are not encouraging .I want the doll in the spirit of the Lady of the Manor Barbie and Market Day Barbie
