@@BenR99 Yep, the engines and transmissions are solid, especially the V8. Do good with maintenance, watch for leaks from the coolant pipes and diff, and clean your injectors - they're surprisingly sturdy for a performance car. Yeah, maintenance is expensive if you go through a dealership, but that's literally all European luxury cars.

@@kingj6477 I've heard both and came very close to buying a F Type R (I live in a condo and work at night though, so ultimately decided to wait instead of pissing off all my neighbors). To be completely fair to both the V6 and V8, I can't really call either better than the other, each one sounds absolutely glorious in different ways. The V6 screams and sings, but the V8 growls with an aggression that begs you for more... I've loved the ones I've driven and my next home will be a house - I'll have one then and it's a hard choice as to which I'll buy...

5 years. The maintenance cost has been low, as i have less than 35K miles on it. Common issues are o2 sensor failure, which are covered by the extended factory warranty.

35-45k now. i had one i want another. Got to be careful with 2015 model year tho, there is a reason they redesigned the hood for 2016. Water gets thru the vents and fuses injectors to the block or something to that effect. Still, only the 2015 and 2016 have the pops and crackles tune. Newer ones do not have the "2 machine guns" out back egg sauce

The worst part about F-types is their suspension for long-term owners. It's expensive to replace, and most need it by the mileage they're selling at. It drops due to reputation of not being reliable. But they are actually very reliable... someone else's loss is plenty of peoples gain. Just don't expect to maintain it like a Honda or Toyota. All of these types of cars takes money to maintain. Problem is too many people buy these cars second hand... then lose their minds with 1 repair bill.
