@1:00 it's not two different motors. It's the same motor, just tuned differently. One tune has revs limiter restricted, the other has the revs unlocked with Sport mode.

So it's called a tail stand and I was doing them back in 89 with the old SP model. Seadoo and all the manufacturers for that matter kept creeping up the length of PWCs until they got so bloated and heavy that all they were good for is straight line speed and cutting. The Sparks is still bigger that the old SP model and can't do many of the tricks that could be done with those skies. They still need to go on a diet. At the present time I am working on converting an old SP to electric power with a 2 hour run time and quick change, fast charge lithium battery packs. Target performance is 55 mph with superior trick capabilities through multiple smaller short burst jets. The majority of the fun was not in the speed it is in the handling and the manufacturers lost sight of that.

Step in the right direction compared to todays modern pwc standards but the Waveblaster is the closest thing there ever was to a dirt bike on water and this is still a boat compared to that. However with this Spark and a new Kawasaki standup jet skis are becoming fun again. Just like every motorsport when the 4 stroke switch happens we loose some nibleness but as the tech matures we get it back. Same for quads, motor cross, and snowmobiles.

marcooconnor. All of those weigh way more then a blaster and the HX was the only one that was in the same race class as the waveblaster. While I am a fan of the xp it's not comparable To a blaster. More of a CRF 100... fun for a novice/young/new/female rider, but people I know that purchased them outgrew them in a year. Still, a nice price point for beginners.
@tomashopper20347 жыл бұрын
I dont know why people always say this.....takes no skill to jump on a 1000 pound ski thats as stable as any boat and pull the throttle.
@chrisburger45187 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. However, I think if you look at a cross section of PWC market, stunt riders are more of an anomaly than a real segment. Now that Yamaha has introduced a lower priced base model, I think the Spark lineup will either disappear or move to become larger and more powerful. Again, people that I have know who purchased the Spark outgrew it quickly. Conversely, they did sell a bunch of them. Come to think of it, so did Yugo, but we all know how that turned out. :) Also worth noting I rode a 330 back in the day, and a XR 100 too. I'll happily keep my TE 510 and (haven't taken delivery yet) red GP 1800.
@tomashopper20347 жыл бұрын
Ski's are not bikes, there are no beginner skis, there are no female skis, etc. With any common sense anybody can jump on the GP1800 and ride, the most powerful ski made, try that on a bike! You buy a ski by price point, features, how many people it can carry, basically purpose. To try insinuate that the Trixx is a beginner ski you will outgrow shows you should stick to bikes. A 300 pound non-athletic guy would be much more comfortable on a GP1800 then Trixx. He probabl could not even ride a Trixx. Dont confuse speed with skill level on a jetski.
@chrisburger45187 жыл бұрын
Ignorance is not always bliss Tomas. Your statement "to try insinuate that the Trixx is a beginner ski you will outgrow shows you should stick to bikes" is not only incorrect English, it shows that you miss the connection between bikes to skis. Enjoy the Trixx and remember this post when you trade up in two years. :)
@tomashopper20347 жыл бұрын
Chris, I have been riding skis since the 80's, I started started on the 440 so I think I know what I want. My point is ski's arent bikes. Any adult with any common sense can jump on the most powerful ski made the GP1800 or RXP-X 300 pull the throttle and ride and not kill themselves, put a beginner on a powerful sports bike and see what happens. Ski's are bought for purpose. Examples include... Do you ride in the ocean, do you want to throw it around, do you want a family ski, do you want to ride what the pro racers ride, do you own a rental company...cost and speed have nothing to do with out growing a ski. Ride what you want....but truth be told a 300lb clumsy out of shape man would have an easier time riding anything but a Spark. So I guess you mean by out grow you really mean go faster....speed means nothing to me.

These machines are amazing, however like many others that have been around jetskis their whole lives. I find that the light small throwable hull is everything I want, but where it falls short is in its power. I get new people coming to the hobby want to do wheelies etc, but after a few minutes it gets a bit boring and I feel like a bit of an idiot doing the same simple trick uo and down the river. These machines need to have a power plant to cater for those that want to take these hulls to the absolute limits. Basically they are way to underpowered, What it needs is a small displacement supercharge engine. I thing crazy, something around the 200hp mark They just lack in that area for someone us more experienced riders. It’s too entry level at the moment. They need to take what they already have and cater to those that are more into wave jumping and 180 tricks etc

Adam Lefthand I've just hit 300 hours on my spark, only replaced 2 wearing wings and I rip the thing straight threw sand all the time.

The sand in your area must be nice & fine with no rocks. Sand in most part is fine (just acts like sandpaper over time) but once you start putting things through it bigger than sand it breaks the plastic ring. My Kawi 310 has a steel housing & no wear ring so they bend impellers if a decent rock goes in.
