Having owned my polo for nearly a year now and putting almost 13k on it I would definitely say if your thinking of getting one to go for it but stay away form the automatic gearbox ,as to say the pros are - UK b roads won't get much better for the price -solid build, no squeaky or creaky plastic - lots of low down torque -Good fuel economy when driving sensible -Available in a 5 door which comes in handy more than you'd expect -very clean/smart looking car -lots of options for customisation and tuning Cons -comes standard with very little specification - gti tartan heated seats are not available - automatic dsg gearbox versions have a reduced torque figure -sits too high from factory for a "sporty" car

Personally I would't say the DQ200 is smooth, especially at low speed. Remarkably different to the wet clutch transmissions VW puts in higher torque applications.

Yeah, press sport, push the gear lever back once more to put the gearbox in sport, or push it left to engage manual

Great car, I wanna get one myself but Im concerned about the Dq200 gearbox because ive heard about the gearbox failure, could it pose potential problem in the long run ? Should i be worried or just buy it?

Hi, yes unfortunately these VAG cars tend to have issues with the Mechatronic, sometimes even when the car is well taken care of and not abused, seems like it’s just a common failure amongst these cars, so just try and get a low mileage one…
