Happy Saturday everyone! We wanted to clarify a couple of things people have brought up. 1. We filmed this review in April and Cadillac announced the discontinuation of the 2.0T shortly after filming. There is also a rumor floating around that the 3.0TT engine from this review is going to be discontinued on the 2020 CT6, in preparation for upcoming CT5. 2. Cadillac does offer massaging rear seats that are heated and cooled on the Platinum trim. Not sure how we overlooked that but Cadillac also have never sent us a fully loaded Platinum version with that option. 3. Apparently, the CT6-V was sold out but Cadillac has once again opened up the order books for it due high demand. We’re hoping to get our hands on one soon. 4. Lastly, we always loved the Omega and Alpha platform. They are some of the best driving cars on the market. We just want Cadillac to go the extra mile that Lincoln has done to even further differentiate themselves from the rest of the GM lineup. Our criticism of the interior is shown so Cadillac can work harder to make themselves better. We want to see them become the standard of the world again and we know they can do it. There is a huge shakeup happening at Cadillac with two all-new sedans and a fully electric SUV coming soon. Hope that answers some of your questions and thanks for watching!

Excellent review! I can honestly say that I pretty much agree with everything you pointed out in this review! I love the engineering behind the CT6, and the exterior is quite handsome! But as usual, GM simply can't deliver on a genuine, world-class interior! Which is a shame considering the excellent tech and handling ability! Until they get that interior up to par with the competition, Cadillac will continue to remain a second rate luxury brand!

I adore the looks of this cadillac on the outside. but it schould really not be compared with the 7 series or the S class. Maybe the E class... Because i think the CT6's interior looks a bit cheap...

Agreed! Sofyan you should not be reviewing this type of car because you 100% don't understand its market placement. No one is being "driven around" in a CT6. Its a $60k car not a $160k car. Its marketed towards boomers or silent generations who want a bigger plush sedan who would consider XTS (Deville), Acura RLX, K900 (honest), Lexus LS or Continental.
@fakamada5 жыл бұрын
In order to be a bargain, you need to directly compete against the others with a lower price tag. Cutting down the costs and saying "this is a cheaper alternative to those who likes A8, S, 7" is a pointless argument. There is no cheaper alternative to this segment. You just build a worse car and try to find a segment for it. This is not how it works and no other owner would think about shifting to a completetly worse car just because it is cheaper.
@mybro7275 жыл бұрын
mada that’s funny because the CT6 has been outselling the 7-series for the second year in a row since 2018. So apparently the Platinum which has a more luxurious interior is a better alternative to the BMW 7-Series than the Cadillac CT6 Premium Luxury with a Sport package. This isn’t the top of the line CT6. It’s just optioned to look and drive like one.

ldawson103 True. GM puts the 3.6L V6 in the new 4,440 lbs Cadillac XT6 which is super refined and reliable delivering adequate power (310hp). Reviewers and commentators still complain that it’s not enough power and “typical GM”. GM puts the 3.0L TT V6 in the 4,420 lbs Cadillac CT6 delivering over 400hp. Reviewers still complain it’s not enough power and “typical GM” to put the TT V6 in this vehicle. I’ve learned people are literally going to complain no matter what GM does. Meanwhile, the new BMW X5 is also a 3 row crossover. It weighs 5,000 lbs. Its entry engine is a 325hp 3.0L V6 (only 25 hp more than the Cadillac XT6). Reviewers and commenters have no issue whatsoever with BMW’s entry hp number for their massive SUV that weighs 500 lbs more than a XT6. Reviewers praise BMW. 😂😂😂 If 325hp is adequate enough for a 5,000lbs BMW X5, 310hp should be more than adequate for a 4,400lbs Cadillac XT6. Why did GM get so much bitching and complaining reviews at the auto show for the entry engine of the XT6?? I have no clue! Lol.

Drove one last year when my family was looking for a new car. We drove a white 3.6 Premium luxury and a black 2.0T luxury. It thoroughly impressed me and I really enjoyed the 3.6. It was very quick, sounded amazing, and was super smooth. The interior punched way above its weight and felt very well built. We compared it with a slightly used 740i, my old S550, and a few different lexuses. The 3.6 was my fav out of all of them (besides my S but I’m biased). We ended up with a C300 (they wanted a smaller car and the ATS is very dated) but I would’ve been very happy with the CT6 too. I’ve thought about getting a used one myself.

Five seconds is more than quick enough. Super Cruise not as good as Tesla? Maybe they don't want the bad press from people being hurt and killed like in the Tesla? We're a distracted bunch in this country anyways, so I'm not sure that fully autonomous driving is what we need at the moment. Also, for the love, you don't have to explain how to start a push-button car! Aborigines in the Outback of Australia understand how to do this. But, perhaps I'm being nitpicky like your reviews... You get great access to vehicles, just stop being so first world picky or you'll end up like the main reviewer on Consumer Reports: "I can't believe for $14k that this car doesn't ride like a Mercedes S-Class....." But if you head over to their channel and watch a few entry-level economy car videos, it won't be long and you'll hear the RIDICULOUS comparisons to cars that are way more expensive. At least give Cadillac credit for designing the car without that stupid coupe like roofline where it is a hell to get in and out without hitting your head. This is a well done luxury car slotted well between E class/5 series and S class/7 series and priced also very well in between these 2 classes of German competitors. This is a biased video as usual from Sofyan against anything not German.

Redline Reviews oh no I agree! Terminology was just hilarious. I actually was thinking during this review how seeing this car makes me realize that Mercedes and the like really do think about every little detail of your experience in your their cars. GM doesn’t feel like that. I like Cadillac though and they look amazing but not sure I’d buy. But I’m a little ways away anyway 🙃

I love the 2019 Cadillac CT6 Sport in this Red Horizon Tintcoat color with these wheels and that sport mesh grille. This vehicle looks absolutely beautiful and mimics Megatron’s face. It’s design is ahead of it’s time, aggressive, sexy, sporty, but looks very clean and classy all at the same time. The 2019 refresh is definitely a success. I prefer the CT5-V over this since it also has a gorgeous exterior but mainly because it has the updated Cadillac interior, which is really the only place the CT6 could become more luxurious. The exterior is opulent. Can’t wait until you review the CT6-V and CT5-V! P.S. The Platinum CT6 does come with heated and ventilated rear seats that are both power recline and massaging.

I know this car compares to the S-class/7 series/A8 and doesn't have the best interior compared to them but doesn't it it have more than you need though🤔 It should also be mentioned, alot infact, that its MUCH less expensive and that counts because just because you have money doesn't mean your going to spend it for the badge. Speaking of the badge, I think Lexus is the only one where quality comes first, the Germans aren't what they used to be if were honest, not to mention maintenance costs either. I hope Cadillac gets back at it with the interior, just needs a little more cooking and PLEASE move that starter button, it's in limbo where its at👈

@pilskadden5 жыл бұрын
I disagree. This is nowhere near an S-class - size wise maybe but not in any other aspect. It is also much cheaper. The interior in an S-class is miles ahead of this cheap plastic box. The S-class also comes with an optional V8. It compares better to Lexus and Genesis and the like.

Today I test drove both the 3.0 turbo and 3.6 naturally aspirated. The turbo is the best NO turbo lag. But the turbo engine is noiser than the naturally aspirated and the shifts are not smooth as the naturally aspirated. Handling is good. Cadillac performance and comfort are better than Lexus ES and LS, on par with Mercedes E and S-classthat I test drove.

The sport trim is essentially for people who want a sporty car. If you upgrade to the Platinum trim it comes with the rear seat massage and recline function. I believe it also gives the interior a full leather package as well. Also note I believe it was last month but the CT6 no longer offers the 2.0t, while in 2020 the 3.0tt will no longer be available. The only available engines are going to be their 3.6 v6 and the 4.2tt v8.

You need to get your hands on the new 2020 CT5, Sofyan, that is the beginning of Cadillacs new sedan philosophy which has a better interior/exterior design layout than previous Cadillac models. The CT6/XT5 are from the previous philosophy. XT4/CT4/CT5 get the new stuff. And I guess maybe XT6 exterior design wise but interior wise it is similar to CT6. Unless I am wrong and the CT6 interior design is meant to be distinctive? If so, the CT5 is better , more modern and has many more physical buttons in the interior.

I think in 2020 the 2.0L Turbo 4 will be standard in the Cadillac CT4. The 3.6L V6 will be an option for the CT4 and standard in the CT5. The 3.0L Twin Turbocharged V6 will only be an option for the CT4-V and CT5. They’re taking it away from the CT6 which will come standard with the 3.6 V6 but now have the option of a naturally aspirated V8 and CT6-V a 4.2 TT V8. I’m just excited about what they’ll do for the CT5-V, the *real* one.

I swear to god people are so easily offended nowadays if they don't hear what they want to hear. He praised the Omega platform, praised the motor (good observation on the initial turbo lag though), for the most part he praised the Supercruise system and observed the steering and response is overall good. GM cars are good in some ways and flawed in other ways. People always say they want the truth and don't like sugar coating yet when the truth is said all off a sudden it's a problem. Very perplexing to me.
