I'm coming back to this video just to share that last week I traded in my beloved F-150 for a 2018 Nissan Titan Single cab. It really was kind of the perfect storm, single cab Titans are incredibly hard to find and one happened to pop up in my area, further, with the pandemic going on dealerships are desperate and willing to make a deal and banks are offering really low-apr loans... to put it simply, I got an amazing deal! I must admit, I originally just wanted a single-cab Titan because, with less than 7,000 of them made in the 3 years that they were produced, single cab Titans are among the rarest mass-produced pickup trucks of the 21st century! (Everybody and their mother drives an F-150, but I am now one of fewer than 7,000 people on the face of the planet that drives a single-cab Titan!)... But I must admit, I'm actually incredibly impressed by this thing! For a base S model single cab truck, its very well appointed. and very comfy (my '13 F-150 XL was completely devoid of any soft-touch materials whatsoever, but the Titan has soft-touch door panels and arm rests! ) My only major complaint so far is that the steering is waaay too heavy for a half-ton pickup truck, in my opinion. Just thought I'd share. Keep up the great work!
@AlphaShark4 жыл бұрын
Dave thats freakin’ rad! And I was along for the whole story. It is DEFINITELY cool to own a single cab Titan! I had no idea they were so rare. I was gonna ask if it was an S or SV, But you answered it! I am actually going to look at reviews of those now because I’m genuinely curious to know more. Sounds like you got a winner on your hands! I’ll pray it lasts you a long time and serves you well!
@dave36824 жыл бұрын
@@AlphaShark Thanks man! Yeah, Nissan said they discontinued the single-cab for the 2020 refresh because it only made up about 5% of Titan and Titan XD sales. Between 2017 and 2019 a total of 134,897 Titans and Titan XDs were sold, 5% of that number is 6,745.. (Really, though, I think Nissan is partially to blame because they just didn't build them and send them to dealers.. my local Nissan dealership told me that they never once had a single-cab Titan on their lot that wasn't specifically ordered by a customer.) Anyways, yeah, it had a lot going for it. In 2018 the Titan was the only half-ton that came standard with push-button start, the only half-ton that came standard with power windows, the only half-ton that came standard with a sliding rear window, the only half-ton that came standard with a dampened tailgate, the most powerful standard half-ton (and one of only two that came standard with a v8 as the Tundra also came standard with a v8, but a much smaller and less powerful one.), and the only half-ton single cab that came standard with an 8-foot bed, which, by the way, at 8'2" was also the longest available bed among all half-ton pickups.... all of that while also being cheaper than similarly equipped half-tons from the competition and boasting the best warranty in the truck business (5 years, 100,000 miles... another reason why my truck was such a steal... it still has 3 years, 2 months and 79,000 miles of warranty on it xD) What really puts a smile on my face, though, is the thought that if I'm driving down a country road, or stop off at a little ma and pa shop, there is a very high probability that mine is the only single cab Titan that has ever driven down that road/stopped at that shop and likely will be the only one that ever will! Who else can say such a thing?? Its not nice to brag, I know... but I don't think its wrong to be excited. If you got it, flaunt it! Right? xD

You know Fernando, that was my dream. Isaac's dream was the big screen, but God steered me towards ministry because I knew that if I went into Hollywood it would be for me, for my self glorification. I wanted to show all the people that bullied me in the past and people that didn't like me that I was "cool" and like look at my wealth! But God showed me that wasn't why he made me, and I realized even if I did make it to a Star Wars movie or something that I wouldn't be satisfied. So I decided to use my gifts for talking to kids not only about Jesus but about their lives and helping them when they might not otherwise have positive influences. And God blessed me with the success of this channel because I decided to go back to college this fall for Youth Ministry, I am a firm believer that I NEVER would've had this level of success were it not for me following what I felt God lead me to do. (Now if he does ever open the door to a movie or TV role, after a lot of prayer I wouldn't be opposed to it!)

It's a shame guys choose not to buy the titan partly because they give into pair pressure regardless of their age such a shame .... I dont understand why anyone wouldn't like the shifter on the column it's out of the was hence not taking up space for other useful stuff like more cup holders .... perhaps guys prefer something hard and stout to wrap their hand around with the column being in the center. Better buy a house first. Not a 48k dollar truck. The money will run out from the military. You will either get out get discharged or get killed. Military life sucks if u have any self worth. Unless u are a robot and love it. I got out and im making 45 dollars an hour now working 12 hours a day

@@gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 and as for self worth it's not for everybody.. the experience was great but not perfect. Obviously some things sucked but the people you meet and the things you get to do make it worth the experience. Everyone I know that serves or has says they miss it for a reason..

Having sold only 31,514 units last year, the Nissan Titan is now the worst-selling pickup truck of any description in America, even the highly controversial Honda Ridgeline outsold it last year. The problem with the Titan has always been that, in most configurations, it really isn't any better than any of the other half-ton pickups, and in some areas, it barely competes with them. This wouldn't be a big deal at all if Nissan priced the Titan accordingly. Unfortunately, they seem to insist on charging nearly as much as the offerings from the Big 3. Nissan's smaller truck, the Frontier, lags significantly behind its competition in most aspects but it is also significantly cheaper than its competition. For this reason, it sells quite well, all things considered. If you ask me, the only Titan worth buying over the competition, in terms of price and capability, was the single cab long bed base model work truck (which they have cut for the 2020 refresh). I'm surprised more fleets didn't go with the regular cab Titan, it was the cheapest and most capable v8 base-model work truck on the market. That should have been a winning combination. Personally, I think Nissan is going in completely the wrong direction with the Titan. They are trying to cater to the daily drivers and weekend warriors who use their trucks as family haulers during the week and go camping on the weekends. Ford, GM, and Ram already dominate this segment. Nissan should have doubled down on the bare-bones work truck. This is a segment that the other big brands are leaving and that Nissan already had a very strong offering in. It is simply not good business to try to cram yourself into a crowded market with a mediocre product. Instead, you look at where there are gaps and vacuums in the market and you target those with a very strong product.
@AlphaShark4 жыл бұрын
Very well put Dave. I can't argue that!
@Bru9464 жыл бұрын
The only thing is that you do NOT want a brand to represent bare bones cars like Nissan is already viewed as. Take Kia for example since they came out with cars like the Stinger and Telluride they have be very very successful recently. Its because they made GOOD cars not the rental base types.
@dave36824 жыл бұрын
@@Bru946 the problem is that the Titan can't compete with it's competitors in quality or capability at the higher levels. That's why they don't sell, they have premium prices but are nowhere near a premium product. The base work truck Titan was, for the price, far and away superior to it's competition. Before anything else, a company has to make money and offer products that have the capability to make money. The Titan does not make money because it does not sell because Nissan has crammed a mediocre product into a heavily competitive market filled with superior products. This is business 101. The Stinger is a good car but it's not exactly a sales success. Though, that has more to do with the fact that sedans are selling less and less in general. Pickup trucks are incredibly popular right now. There's no reason why the Titan can't sell like hotcakes... But Nissan has to play their cards right.
@stevensingleton78664 жыл бұрын
Dave I understand your argument for offering a better product and a better marketing strategy, but please be honest about your assessment of the Titan. This truck is just as capable, just as reliable if not more than the domestics. The biggest problem is perception, which people like you keep perpetuating that Nissan can’t compete, that’s utter nonsense. The only areas this truck is lacking is the number of configurations and engine choices, but pit it up against a similarly equipped truck from any other manufacturer and it competes just fine.
@dave36824 жыл бұрын
@@stevensingleton7866 That's exactly the point, it doesn't offer as many options, it can't tow as much as domestics, it cant haul as much as domestics, it gets worse gas mileage than the domestics, the cab room is inferior to the domestics, and despite all of this Nissan still charges nearly as much as the domestics for the Titan. What can the Titan claim over the domestics? It USED to be able to claim to have the longest bed option of any half-ton truck, it USED to be able to claim to be the cheapest v8-powered half-ton... but not anymore. As far as reliability is concerned, the 2nd gen Titan and Titan XD get a 1-star reliability rating from consumer reports, the only other truck with a 1-star rating is the GMC Sierra HD. Even J.D. Power rates the Titan below every other half-ton truck in predicted reliability.
