The 2020 Passat R-Line is BETTER than the Honda Accord

Everyone down my block owns a Honda. Love my Passat R-Line and not being like everyone else.

haha I love it! Honda makes great vehicles at an affordable price but you hit the nail on the head. It is similar to an Accord in my opinion but it stands out more.

Of course is much better.... This car doesn't come with cvt!! Honda Accord does. It's not an Audi... But product-price it's good. And still is a beautiful car!

It feel close on the exterior design to an Audi.....like half way there. I would have no problem daily driving it.

I would too think that the “R” in R-line would make it sportier I have a 2021 over all it’s just a nice looking car with an awesome sound system

I agree. The R Trim does look a touch sportier but you are spot on.

R-line on Vdubs is an appearance package. Other than the larger wheels and lower profile tires, there are no performance upgrades. The only sporty Passat we ever got was the GT with the Vr6 engine, and I guess you could say the Arteon since it's a Euro Passat dressed up in nicer bodywork, and the latest versions have the Golf R drivetrain.

How is this better than the Accord? In fact I'd say the Accord and Camry are 1a and 1b depending on drivetrain choice, Mazda 6 is 2, Hyundai Sonata/Kia K5 are 3a and 3b, then the Passat. It's not a bad car, it's just old and outdated now. If we had the Euro Passat (we do get it in the more expensive form of the Arteon) then it might rank 2 or 3, but not this cheapened American version.

For me…..it comes down to the exterior design and I felt like 2020 Passat v Accord the Passat wins. Now, if we are talking the 2023 Accord redesign. That might be a different story haha

The Accord 2L turbo is a solid car! You might like the quality of the Passat a touch more. That was the only thing that bothered me about the Accord after awhile.

@@Carsideration yeah my last car was an 08 Lexus IS350 which had far better quality than the accord, plus a lot more fun to drive… less expensive etc.

Great video but the is a let in my opinion Volkswagen Passat shouldn't been better the competition got better options for the same price I just hope Volkswagen change his car again for 2022 and make it more better around even though I know that the sedan market is dying out but I hope Volkswagen can change it around and I have hope for the Passat to live longer than it should

We had an extended test drive of a 2016 when it was new. I have to start by stating that I've had 2 separate lower back fusion surgeries, so finding comfort in a car or suv isn't easy. But the passat felt like the seat and steering wheel and pedals were off center. Granted the newer passat is different, but I wonder if they fixed that or if it's still off center from the seat?

I guess I did not pick up on that. Someone commented on my Focus RS video about something similar. I didn't notice it right off the bat but I'm going to have to start paying attention to this. Maybe it is more common than I thought??

One of the biggest things I do not like about the Accord is the infotainment system. It just feels cheap to me. Idk if it is the graphic design and lighting of it but I do not like it at all. I personally think the Passat R-Line looks better than the Accord when it comes to exterior design as well. Jumping into the VWs interior I felt like it was a more comfortable cabin design and the seating position felt a touch better for me too.

I’m sorry but you didn’t do your homework before making this very misleading video. I couldn’t understand how you can compare the Passat to the accord in terms of infotainment system or anything for that matter. After reading more comments you are comparing an 2016 accord that you claimed was fully loaded to a brand new Passat. I’m a VW lover but this Passat is trash in comparison to any accord 2018+ not even close cmon if you going to make a video like this compare it properly. Big rookie mistake hopefully you don’t make this mistake in the future. Good luck with the channel. 👍

I have not driven a Mazda yet but I feel like the Passat has lighter steering and is a touch more refinded. The Accord is still a great car though!

I drive a 2.0T Accord often for work and I enjoyed this Passat a lot more. Just my opinion though haha

Yes it better than accord, Honda fanboys vw always handles better, premium and good looking than Honda. Nothing beats a German car when it comes to these things
