The 2020 Shelby GT500 Launch Sequence: Line Lock/Burnout & Launch Control EXPLAINED!

On this edition of Tech Tips, Jared will teach you (and himself) how to engage the Line Lock & then the Launch Control on your 2020 Shelby GT500.
There are multiple steps before (and during) each part to ensure that you and the car are on the same page. For example, if you turn traction control OFF during your burnout so you can roll through it, then you'll need to remember to turn it back ON before you start the Launch Control.
Gone are the days of footbrake leaving (for now...).

Lol. You're overthinking things my dude. It's not too bad, just gotta know what you're doing before it's time to do it is all. For me. I get line lock on, and while I'm getting in position hold the ok. Then brake, gas 3-6 seconds. When that's done, go ahead and select launch control and get it set on the rpm you want. Then get in position to go, select the rooms, and letter rip. You are correct that it just takes some experience, but it's all dummy proof, you got this. ♡

Took mine to the track with 400 miles on it computer wouldn't let me do much this was great to watch because I could not do a burn out and the car would not rev with my foot on the brake trying to leave the line

Took mine to the track Friday, first pass and best was a 12.07 i slept at the light lol awful on the tree that night, but man this thing is nuts, i ran every single person down. once i get the tree down and DR for the car ill see low 11 i think

On my GT500. Drag mode automatically has launch control enabled. I can then Turn traction control off and traction control still stays on. Not sure if you could try doing that

It will let you launch at 3200rpm when you turn launch control off. Even though it says not available. In the ford performance video that comes with the car it shows this so you can do a rolling burnout. My question is has anyone been able to turn the stability control off. Usually most cars I’ve had you hold the traction control button for 10 seconds or something and that does it. I feel like my gt500 has way too much traction control even when it’s off to the point I think it might not do anything when I hit the traction control button. Broken?

@@rtreyk turn traction control button off then hold traction control off button for around 10 sec right after and you see stability control off in the cluster. Your all set. if you hit the traction control button again you turn everything back on. use with caution 😤
