We're hoping BMW will send us the manual M3 later this summer, but once you get past the obnoxious grille, this new M3 will make you fall in love with BMW's ability to deliver a true driver's car. The new version is relentless and puts the power down like an AWD car, which is still coming for 2022.

If it wasn't for the grill, I'd buy one. It's just so horrendously designed. The vertical disruption into the hood; getting rid of the iconic BMW kidneys. I can't figure out whether it looks like a big nose or the teeth of a rat. Sports cars are supposed to look low and sleek, not have their radiator be the highest point on the hood. If someone designed a car that has the looks, engine and sound of the Giulia, the handling and refinement of the BMW and the interior of the Mercedes, you would have the best sports sedan, and dare I say the best car in the world (rather easily). I'd pay $100k for it at least. Nothing in this category jumps out at me at the moment, but nothing is bad either. They're all pretty good and each one is a good buy depending on what you value most.

I think the face for the M3 and the new 4 series is really stunning. It definitely stands out from the crowd. I didn't like it at first, but the more I see it the more I like it. Gonna go very soon to see it in person and give my final verdict.

It's a return to form with this G80 M3. I really really like it. It kind of does everything the F80 didn't, except for looking good. Honestly, it doesn't even look that bad. The M4's proportions are terrible. You brought up the comment about it reminding you about the BMWs from 20 years ago. I keep bringing this up, but if I drove the F30/F10 as my first BMW experience, I wouldn't have thought twice about the brand. My first BMW experience was with an E39 and E90, and I adored them. Bravo, BMW!

@@garrettw99 Totally agree, Garrett. I was a Doug fan from his first Carrera GT review, but he's like every Tom Clancy novel - too much detail. Sometimes I enjoy it. Other times, it's too much detail - I often prefer a high angle on something over the nitty gritty. Sofyan give you what you need to know. Done! Love it! And we can't forget his laugh when the car out-accelerates his own sanity :)

Great review, the car is soooo good at what it does. Effortless and enough power in any powerband. I went from the 8V RS3 to this and its a great experience but as you mentioned, it's the former M5 proportion in size and a tad too big. I put my name on the list for the new 8Y RS3, until then I'll enjoy this :)
