I used to work for a limo company and had the privilege of driving the head of design of Mercedes, back when the Mayback had its redesign early 2000’s … he said to me that they are always 10 years ahead of everyone else so this model took take years in the making … image what they will have 5 years from now with all this tech and improvements it’s just marvelous!

I love this vehicle. Everything about it I think if I had the money I would buy one. I love the new headlights they look better than the old ones. It gives the car a more modern look. I will say the back side of the vehicle is ok. Overall you did a great job keep it up!

Leased a brand new 2020 amg gtc roadster 2/2021. On the drive home got first error message and noticed busted subwoofer. After that engine lights. Then engine lights again. Then 4 (!!!) simultaneous error messages. Multiple knocking sounds. Overall, $189k car has been in the shop with 10 different issues for about 70 days. Customer service from MBUSA is truly disgusting. Ignoring multiple calls and messages and multiple emails. Asked them multiple times to take car back and they refused. Have to go thru lemon process to get rid off this piece of junk. Never offered apology or any sort of mediation for the experience. How in the world they are allowed to sell products they cannot support is beyond me.

Exactly and touch screens some cars are 60k and don't have touch screen while you can get best touch screen aftermaket for 400$ so car companies cost them less alot less they buy in millions and millions usnits from China so it kills me when I see car companies making screens with no touch and 2021 and 2022 even Austin Martin sport suv over 260k USA probably 300k Canadian or 350k doesn't have tocuh screen are you kidding meeeeeeeee who ever said that was gooooooood so I get your point

I fell in love with the back of the Benz in the 90's and also back then a Benz stood out and the tail lights and head lights were awesome. Nowadays even the most expensive Benz doesn't stick out in traffic because the cheap hondas and Kia's are making knock offs that look exactly like benz's. The back of this one looks like and older honda accord sport. The Benz used to look exotic now it just looks like any other car in traffic.

Car deff has an amazing drive to it. The 580 is the real deal. Compared to my older S63 there’s more of a floating feel. There’s a lot of options which is cool to bring the price down if not needed. The rear wheel steering is super dope. Am to be honest this will be the last of its kind. Then we will most likely all be pushed to electric. Really cool car.

@@MilesPerHr This is an infuriatingly poor design. The glare is bad and totally unnecessary. BMW makes an effort to keep glare to a minimum. I ordered an S and did not order the heads up display because it produced additional glare...would love to have had it.

I like it from the front, except the smooth, glossy plastic in the middle of the grill, it seems like that could have an embossed grill pattern like the side "vents". From the rear, it looks generic, you could put an Acura badge on the back and I'd believe it. I really like the interior (except for the pinstripes), and I suppose since that's where I'd be most of the time, it's okay.

I’m glad they kept the star on the hood, it’s an elegance sign of Mercedes. I’m upset that even on the E Class it has to be special ordered and it’s rare, even rarer on the C Class. Mercedes is about elegance, that’s why I’m not thrilled with the moldings, nothing beats wood, specially burl wood or even zebra no like on the 70’s and 80’s. This wood with the lines is not as classic as an S Class deserves. Jaguar was never the same when the new line kicked in and they deleted the jaguar from the hood. If you want a sporty car you can get a coupe or a BMW, if you’re looking for classic and elegance the S Class is it. The XJ Jaguar got the sportier trend. In conclusion, this new S Class is still the gentleman’s choice!

I can't say I like the interior that much because of the high level of gloss. Lots of shiny stuff everywhere. In another color with a matte wood and minimized piano black it may have a different feel to it. The screen controls are on the Mach 2, on Volvos and the next gen Volvo will have it floating, and to a large degree on Audis. This car tries to blend traditional with tech so that's why I would want the warmer wood tones and earth tones and less shine. I also would love to hear the doors shut. Soft close isn't for me. I want to feel like the door closes tight with a solid thunk so I wouldn't use that feature. In the road test, it's hard to tell how quiet the car is. I don't mind hearing bumps to some degree. To me, that's an aspect of the European ride. A quiet, rounded thump is part of the car reading and absorbing the road. I still sort of heard some bumps in the test but that may be an aspect more of the mic amplifying them than what one would hear in the actual car seat.

You don't have to keep down-shifting with the paddles. If you just hold it for a few seconds, it will down-shift all the way to the lowest gear it can for your speed. To go back to "D", just hold up-shift paddle.

It's supposed to have a silencing feature for the interior, maybe this car was not equipped with it? It uses the Burmester speaker system to twist the road noise into the opposite phase to cancel it out, therefore, making it extremely quiet inside. It's quiet without it, but even quieter with it.

It's about time cars implemented rear seat accommodation for all seats. The money you pay for vehicles now days. Most don't include the rear. So Hats off to Mercedes for considering a relaxing environment for a driver who wants to enjoy being driven while driver # 2 also drives and he. The driver can relax on long trips. Yeah. I'm selling my trailer and getting a S 580. One vehicle for traveling long road trips. I'll stop for rest stops and eateries . And get a hotel to sleep. Goodby trailer life.
