the availability of the parts is easy with the vette unlike the prev builts that exhaust his skills and time, but looking forward for 23rd garage to finish the mustang. S2k seems to taking progress as well.

Gotta say that the new hood looks a bit wavy. Can you build up some clear and block sand it to smooth? Neat rebuild!

noticed too - those dips in the front where an air extractor cutout would go... they really seemed to hold a ton of water after the carwash. A pinhole and drain tube routed correctly would solve that pretty quick and easy.

Everything bodyshop and repair wise for collisions is ruled by repair books. Parts and labor cost determine if a vehicle is totalled. Even if those two don't come to 50% of the value of the vehicle, if enough damage is done to the structure/frame, insurance companies may consider the vehicle a write off.

If you did not do a vacuum on the AC system you are going to burn up the compressor. It will run for a while but the compressor will die since the moisture was not evacuated by doing a vacuum on the system.

That's not really the case anymore with the new freon and oil mixture in the cans. That used to be a major problem with the R-134a refrigerant but not so much anymore.

You should pull a vacuum on the AC and then recharge it. Ideally it should blow about 40 degrees. Love the C8 and the vids!

For $750, that carbon fiber hood looks nice. The current exhaust sounds fine to me.

Ben im with you on all the work you do. HVACR is my business.. for 30yrs. You should have pulled the compressor and put in new oil. Then pressure checked to 250psi. Pulled a vacuum to minimal 250 microns. Kep the hoses on and put in freon. The minute you pulled off those hoses from the vacuum you let air into the system. That AC system will not last.

I had a similar hood on my Mitsubishi, every time I washed the car I would pop the hood and let it run to the cowl and windshield for a minute or two and then wipe back down. C8 is my next dream car.

If your AC was empty, you have to fully evacuate the system with a vacuum pump. The right amount of oil in the AC is very important too.

Dang, I was late watching this. Man I think it needs more. Like an aero-luggage roof rack and a new spankin rear spoiler . Maybe a wide-body kit and some sick LED lights under the car and on the wheels. But, whatever vTuned does...I'm down with it. And that Jake guy is cool. Perfect partner with vTuned. Very humble and gets the job done! BTW: Please finish that Mustang build...still have ideas in my head and only vTuned can finish it.

With the carbon hood it deserves a carbon diffuser and a full aero kit and the side door air intake’s and rear spoiler/wing. I’ve seen a few with these kits and they look mean. They have more of a Z06 look.
