While Toyota is no longer going to offer the Land Cruiser in America, it lives on for 2022 with the completely redesigned #LexusLX600. These Toyota/Lexus SUVs have an insane resale value. A nice used J100 series LX 470 or Land Cruiser from the late 90s to mid 2000s can sell for $15k even if it has 200 thousand miles or more on it. That thing will last another 20 years and 200 thousand miles with no problems

Currently own a 2020 GX and a 2010 LX. Had the chance to test drive the new LX 600 last weekend....was told it was one of 12 in the Eastern US. Anyways...don't waste your money....stick with the GX or the LX570. The ride and comfort is pretty much the same and it's considerably cheaper...I think the one we tested was a little over 105K....it's just not that much better than the GX for the money.

I really like the design & overall look of cabin and centre console. Bigger isn’t always better - I like the aesthetics of having this efficiently sized (split screens). It is tight & practical but not in a negative way. In an electric vehicle, yes I’d expect a giant screen & minimalist look. Overall, this looks rather compact for a big vehicle but I don’t mean that in a negative way. It’s not massive for city living.

@DOGS LOL tablet screens are the easiest and cheapest way. manufacturers are putting screens higher in the drivers' sightlines to minimize as much distractions possible. however if it's not a tablet style often times the entire dashboard also has to come up, which unfortunately hinders visibility up front. so it's a compromise design. in my opinion the previous gen honda accord and lexus gs had well integrated infotainment/dashboard design., though some may see that as outdated.

Happy to hear how Lexus refined this generation plus the weight loss should portend a much better driving experience. The only concern now is that this is now a considered a midsize vehicle, considering just how large those models have become(this is 5" shorter than a JGC L). The interior environment is quite cozy, but pretty refined(although I'm not a fan of the center stack. Not quite as well integrated as something like the Audi dual-screen setup.) Time will tell if this holds up the expected LX qualities like the prior-gens. I wish I could pick up a 16-21, but those things hold value like nothing else!

It looks good but I'm sorry that interior doesn't look like it costs over a 100k, it would have looked at home in a Toyota. +26HP, +76lbs-ft improvement over the previous generation which was an NA engine.. These improved #s are achieved via a turbocharged petrol 3.5 V6 with fairly cammy - classic toyota - V6 from the camry and ex350 and avalon etc.. recently enhanced and made about to yield significant improvements over previous NA V6. i digress. Massive torque and large horsepower gains through means of forced induction which further amplifies the scape of the increase in performance metrics over prior engine, there’s 2 reasons this thing has become significantly higher output.. Next up is a 441lb reduction in curb weight.. about 200kg weight loss which definitely improves things… lastly you have the 10 speed transmission upgrade over prior 6/8 speed transmissions. This LX600 is going to age like a fine bottle of wine with each model year. What an excellent improvement scape for the generation overhaul

The ultra luxury package would be my choice. But would be nice to have panoramaic roof, more interior colour options, coolbox and retractable work station for the rear passengers. Will probably leave the suspension mode in its highest clearance level all the time until aerodynamics becomes necessary. It just looks better that way in my opinion. I feel Lexus had enough time to put some of these details for such an expensive vehicle and the sequential turn signals (front and rear) would have been nice to have.

sequential turn signals is standard on the LX, RX, and LS in the Middle East. It is just a US regulations so that's why it is not available on the US spec LX, RX, and LS.

less is more. with this being the land cruiser for the US i can see why they didnt want to crowd the new gen with all the bells and whistles. the tech inside definitely matches expectations of what land cruiser and LX owners want anyway. with land cruisers and LXs being so prominent in the middle east, it's good that they designed it for that market. if it doesnt appeal to you, the competition will offer it. no doubt toyota can put all displays if they wanted to. but that's just lazy interior designing in my opinion. if they are able to integrate buttons, knobs and switches well into the interior, i'd argue it's a well designed interior that has been thought out. but people want the fancy tech just because. let's see how that works when those screens glitch out, or randomly die altogether.

I have love/hate with my 16 lx. Steering is very heavy. Its very bumby even with air ride & comfort mode. And the dummest thing is you cant utilize remote start with key unless you have enform subscription. Not sure if its gonna be the life long keeper.
